We kinda like living out here in Alberta, just send up the Montana National Guard detachment from Sweetgrass.
Only Toronto is that clean - it is excetionally clean and even cleaner than my home city Auckland or capital Wellington (both of NZ) and a bit like Melbourne. Montreal is like New York and judging from the buildings I have seen off Autoroute 20 it is worse than many places in the States except maybe Detroit City.
Kingston and Ottawa are unremarkable. I feel it is on a par with Pittsburgh or Rochester New York in terms of cleanliness.
Calgary and Edmonton are very clean. Cleaner than Toronto even.
Thanks, as I've never been to any area west of Windsor I don't know much about Western Canada.
I live in Ottawa. BORING city!!!!
That's because west of Windsor is Michigan.
Too much like Wellington (nice, quiet, kind of cosmopolitan for a small city), but with swaths of French Canadians nearby IMHO.
You're correct about the french. But when I goto Aylmer-Gatineau regions, I think I know why. that regions look very poor compare to Ottawa.
That would perhaps give momentum to the western provinces to abandon ship as well. As long as Canadian politics are determined by the inner city politics of the big metropolitan areas, it's going to be liberal whether the Liberal Party takes a hit in the next election or not.

The difference between Eastern and Western Canada is like night and day. It looks different, feels different, the politics is different, it even smells different. There are big differences between the provinces which truthfully is the root of all the problems with confederation. IMHO Canada is finished.
As for Windsor, ON most Canadians (and Americans) consider it a suburb of Detroit, not really Canadian.
