Many FReepers like to give Couric a hard time about the colonoscopy, but I think it's actually one of the few good things she's ever done. It took guts, so to speak, to do it, and to the extent it encouraged others to get colonoscopies, it probably saved some lives.
I just get peeved at the martyr status the rest of the media gave her for getting a routine exam. I know her husband passed from colon cancer, but the hero worship went a little overboard.
