Getting lots of e-mail from readers and fellow bloggers about these photos of ACLU "legal observers" (scroll down)--assigned to monitor potential illegal activities of the Minuteman Project--apparently breaking the law themselves and smoking pot on the job.
I've contacted the ACLU of Arizona for comment. Also am tracking down the person who took the photos. I've been informed that the Cochise County Sheriff's Office has the pictures and has received a complaint, but is unlikely to take action.

That first pic:
That's a rolled one alright. The only question is if it's tobacco or not.
((yea, I know. Who rolls their cigarettes anymore?))

That was my first reaction - benefit of the doubt and all that. But the observer smelled it, so ...
More likely than not, it was pot.

The woman's appears to be a cig. Hard to tell - but I thought joints were shared, aot cigarettes which are a 1 per person kind of thing.

I can't understand how Bush and Gonzales are staying quiet on this issue!

Well we all knew they were smoking something. You didn't think it was cigarettes did you? Why now that would be positively criminal. They might be giving someone second hand smoke.

My grandfather was the last person I knew who actually rolled their own cigarettes and he died in 1988.

Re: " Who rolls their cigarettes anymore?"
I had a guy who worked part time for me who did. He said he couldn't afford even the cheepy cigs. I used to drive him over to the smoke shop where he would buy the loose tobacco. They sold it so, someone must be buying it.

Who rolls their cigarettes anymore?
With cigarette prices being what they are, I know quite a few people who roll their own. Plus there's a vocal minority here at FR who espouse the joys of rolling one's own...

Sent this out. Question, they say the ACLU types are yelling in their faces and shining lights in their faces, why can't/don't they defend themselves?

The ACLU are demons from HELL. I hope God intervenes in their plot to overthrow America. I hate ACLU!
