WASHINGTON - Senator Schumer yesterday labeled the head of the conservative Christian Family Research Council "un-American" for accusing Democrats of using the filibuster to block religious judicial nominees.
The accusation came as the Senate majority leader, William Frist of Tennessee, plans to make a speech to a conference organized by the group Sunday. The nationally televised event will argue for an end to the Democrats' ability to use filibusters to delay judicial nominations in the Senate.

The Senate minority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, has also condemned Dr. Frist.
"Participating in something designed to incite divisiveness and encourage contention is unacceptable," he said. "This is a democracy, not a theocracy," Mr. Reid added.
I see the genius from Searchlight had to chime in with another of his sound bites of wisdom. Of course, he doesn't know that we aren't a democracy, either. I guess there aren't many qualifications needed to be a senator anymore. We've settled for a government of dolts.

No, we just need to create some new counties and affiliate with Idaho.

I have ALWAYS been in favor of the Foreign-Exchange Citizen Program....let's trade liberals for all the true-American-at-heart foriegners who want to be here. Then everybody's happy - native Americans, liberals, new Americans, American government and foreign dictators.....

"The founding fathers put down their plows and took up muskets to combat views like that - that one faith or one view of faith should determine what our politics should be," Mr. Schumer said on the ABC News program"
You know, I really thought this was funny at 1st. But whenever LIBERAL COMMIES try to use the founding and the rebels of the RevWar to make THEIR points, I just get mad. The founders - all of them, from well-bred Congressman to diseased and destitute soldier - would skewer these Commies. It is THEY who make the Founders spin at 4500 rpm in their graves. G-D a$$hole idiots.

Every Sunday Chuckie cheese Scumbag has a press conference to call attention to some liberal issue. Being Sunday and NY, he gets a lot of attention.
Chuckie needs to ratchet it back a few notches. He is the definition of a bigoted liberal liar. And I am holding back on what I really think about him.

Let's just continue to make fun of this dweeb. It's safe, legal and it's almost as much fun as having a laugh on Jeffords or Byrd. This is the Democratic pantheon: what a bunch of first class dorks!

Like Joe McCarthy, Schumer is calling anyone who disagrees with him "UnAmerican".McCarthy was much more cautious than that, as suggested by what Joe said on the Senate floor days after his Wheeling, West Virginia speech:
"The Senator from Illinois demanded, loudly, that I furnish all the names. I told him at that time that so far as I was concerned, I thought that would be improper; that I did not have all the information about these individuals . . .I have enough to convince me that either they are members of the Communist Party or they have given great aid to the Communists: I may be wrong. That is why I said that unless the Senate demanded that I do so, I would not submit this publicly, but I would submit it to any committee - and would let the committee go over these in executive session. It is possible that some of these persons will get a clean bill of health . . ."

Well, the idea that Jefferson and Washington risked their lives so Chuck Schumer, the ACLU, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, wouldn't have to see a Courthouse Nativity scene, or hear the word "God" in the pledge of allegiance - is so absurd it's unreal.
Schumer and his ilk will trash the founders tomorrow -as "dead white males", slaveholders, and genocidal manics who killed the Indians - if it serves their purpose.

Excellent points.
IMO, Dean and Schumer are the two best faces for the Democratic party.
I hope they, Barney Frank, and John Kerry, get a lot face time on TV.

Liberals have been calling people unAmerican quite a bit for the last decade or more, it reflects their confidence in their cultural control. The use of the term by liberals isn't really ironic but a conscious gloating about their power, now WE are in power, WE get to define American. Certainly virtually all Republicans would faint dead away before calling any liberal unAmerican.
