Yes, it's annoying to have Indian issues all turn into nature worship, considering as most Indians these days are Catholics, and the rest are Protestants and all.

Real Indian issues are jobs, education, crime, and getting seed capital to do something. The treaty rules have provided a niche for the latter, with tax free stores and casinos, but that's only a step along the way. Since a general accounting, which would be the only really FAIR outcome, is never going to happen, the fights now are tough turf wars with the states over treaty rights.

Nobody likes pollution. Indians don't want to live on Love Canal, but then, neither do whites.

As to Ward Churchill and his ilk: put beads and dyed hair on him, and he's still what he always was: you can't polish a turd.

So Churchill and these others are frauds, the real problem is the hatred of whites amongst the elite that Churchill plugged into to get his job. Chiding fakery is safe, digging deeper to the roots of that fakery may not be.
