I just upgraded my Norton. I had Norton antispam working quite well a while back and then it disappeard. No more spam bar on the outlook. I just had to upgrade my subscription and I assumed that the spam bar would come back but no dice.

I installed some ms updates aabout the same time the spam bar disappeared. How do I get my norton antispam to work fully.

Yes, I know this isnt breaking news. But it is midnight and I didnt want to go into the hole of darkness without an answer.

I'm not that technical, so can't give you an answer.

But if you posted this in General Chat, you'd get lots of help. Many computer problems are solved there. :)

Running Windows XP SP2? There are some incompatibilities with Norton software. Search on www.microsoft.com for info.

Truthfully and not being sarcastic, the problem is that your using Norton. Its crap, really. It causes more problems and is mostly bloat ware. I know you spent alot on it, but I would get rid of it, download AVG Anti-virusfor free (and gives you free updates), and if your using XP turn on your firewall (built into XP) and if you've got an extra $40, go buy System Suite by V-com. All in one anti virus, firewall, email scan, disk defrg, etc. So I've got 2 anti viruses, and 3 firewals (including the one built in my router) and running spyware, Never had a problem. Got rid of my Norton and never ever will use it again. Very poor product IMO

You might give it a try. Usually any night of the week a computer question in general chat gets lots of replies. That's where most folks go to look for tech posts. It's a great learning ground.

I don't have a problem with my Norton AntiVirus. In fact, I love it.

I have to second Bommer's AVG suggestion. I too had norton and after my subscription lapsed I found out they were no longer supporting the version I used. Basically a way to get another $40 from me.

I downloaded AVG and am very happy with the performance. It does evertyhing I wanted and it seems to be much friendlier on the system resources than norton.

What is sp2? is that the update? can I over ride it? Should I over ride it.

You don't need Norton AntiSpam anyway. Your ISP usually comes with a free antispam program, in addition to a free firewall and antispyware.

Your best bet would be to go to the Symantec web site and fetch the uninstall/registry cleaning programs that cleanup all the crap messed up installs their products tend to leave on your system - then do a fresh install of the program, and then the updates.
