Cardinal Who Warned of 'Antichrist' Rises in Betting Odds (Poll-Who is 'Antichrist' he describes??)

CARDINAL WHO WARNED OF 'ANTICHRIST' RISES IN BETTING ODDS

Though Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi is the odds-on favorite to be the next pope, global betting parlors are reporting an influx of bets on Cardinal Giacomo Biffi.

"From what I can see here, there's been a lot of wagers on Biffi," Mani Sanders of Pinnacle Sports, an online gambling service based on the resort island in the Netherlands Antilles, told the Providence Journal.

Cardinal Biffi, emeritus bishop of the archdiocese of Bologna, was recently listed as a 125-to-1 long shot to succeed John Paul II.

But does Pinnacle know something we don't?

The paper reports that as an influx of "bets were placed on Biffi in the past several days, the odds on the 76-year-old Italian had dropped to 50 to 1 by Wednesday."

If Biffi does win, it will be a sign that the Church leaders are trending more conservative.

Biffi is strongly anti-Masonic. He was quoted as saying Catholic churches should ban Mozart's music, as the composer was a Mason. The Church and the Masonic movement have long had an antagonistic relationship.

In recent years Biffi stirred controversy by saying Italy should "protect its national identity" and stop the avalanche of Muslim immigrants.

In 2000, Biffi predicted that "Europe will either become Christian again or it will become Muslim." He added ominously., "The vast majority of Muslims are coming here determined to remain outside our humanity."

That same year Biffi also said that he believed the Antichrist was alive and would soon rise to prominence.

Biffi told a conference meeting in Bologna that the Antichrist was a prominent philanthropist who advocated causes like human rights, the environment and ecumenicism.

Biffi said that this man – who he never identified – had a "fascinating personality" and espoused causes like vegetarianism, pacifism, environmentalism and animal rights.

Biffi added that this Antichrist would be a Bible expert who would discard its truths to prosletyze for "vague and fashionable spiritual values."

The reference to Biffi's comments on the Antichrist were taken from a speech from March 4, 2000. The important thing to understand is that Biffi was not making the prediction himself, he was only presenting information of another person, Vladimir Sergeevic Soloviev. It was Soloviev who predicted the shape and direction of the 1900s (he died in 1900). The presentation that generated this story can be found here.

Worthwhile read.

Your welcome. Many conservatives and Repubs labor under the illusion that the DEMons are loyal to america, trying to make life better for Americans, albeit taking the worng (liberal) approach. What they do not know/understand is that these people are the enemy. They have no love of country and any friendship across party/ideological lines is more likely than not a farce. These friendships will end when convenient/needed by the Demons to lord over America. That's why all this talk of bipartisanship, cooperation, and general eunuchness.

Ok. I didn't understand what you found funny.

One thing for sure, the AC is a liberal.

"God may not be a Republican but Satan sure as hell is a Democrat."

Ezekiel 28: 12 -26 Give us the description of the historical anti-christ.

Christ said I have foretold you all things now why would anybody be guessing who the instead of christ is?

The Bible clearly states that the Anti-Christ will have the power and the political ability to join all nations as one. He will be the truest "uniter." Universally loved, treated as god on earth. His true demonic nature will not immediately come forth. That will be saved for the last years of his reign.

There is no one on the scene like that as of yet.

Maybe it's this guy.

To: AnnOutragedCitizen; verity

At the risk of being being called 'mad' (thank you Verity, lol) I'll wade in here with my own theory about the Antichrist:

There is no one political or religious figure on Earth who has the ability to unite ALL humanity. Simply isn't going to happen. There has to be some sort of unifying event, threat, incident, etc., i.e., a cosmic 9/11.

Remember when President Reagan made some references (one of them in a speech at the U.N.) to the effect that all of our political differences would be set aside if Earth were to suddenly be faced with a threat from outside our world, from outside our own solar system?

Now consider the impact of real, verifiable, physical "put your hands on them" alien contact from another galaxy or something. Think of the effect it would have on the many religious beliefs, some would embrace God (however they perceived Him) even more tightly, others would abandon their faith in the face of evidence of a higher power finally revealing themselves for the purpose (of course!) of helping Earth evolve into a peaceful world, to avoid self destruction, etc., etc.

If there was ONE alien personality who presented itself with all of the social skills, wit, compassion, understanding, patience, tolerance, ad nauseum, we all KNOW the world wide media would embrace such an entity as the greatest thing since Jesus Christ Himself. Indeed, the amoral atheistic slugs who run most of the media would proclaim such an alien goon to be GREATER than Christ, and the 'true' answer to all of the questions regarding the presence and meaning of man on Planet Earth. Such an alien entity would quickly be seen as head and shoulders above any possible Earth leader, and I submit that such an entity would be given Carte Blanche (not the credit card, you wise acres) to lead Earth into a bright and safer future.

Now if such an entity were to arrive in the wake of millions of Christians suddenly disappearing from the face of the Earth (depending on what you believe about the many doctrines regarding the 'Rapture'), you can bet that such a visitor would be welcomed with open arms, and trusted with anything and everything on the Planet, IF he/she/it would just guarantee 'peace and safety, peace and safety', the remaining residents of Earth post-Rapture would sell their souls (literally) for peace, safety and security. Those that do not?

Well, they'll find out what it's like to be Christian Martyrs.

Naturally, I don't believe that any such alien entity would actually be from another star system, they would be nothing but supernatural and extradimensional, because that is where you will find Satan at the present time, still hiding in the shadows, sending out his deluded 1/3rd of the angels (now demons) to do his bidding, along with lots of help from our fellow humans who sold out to Evil long ago.

I believe there is a strong possibility that the actual Antichrist as described in the Bible will not be a human like us, but someone who will appear to be superior to us, and to do that will require an other-worldly family tree, and naturally, one will be happily provided with lots of documentary 'evidence' which will convince even the doubters and scoffers.

Just my .02 on a dark and stormy Sunday night...bwhahaha!!

Regards,

MM

Boy if that isn't a case of seeing what you want to see, I don't know what is! A mirrored image of stars (& stripes, from the flag) is the face of the beast?

I saw that the description totally fit a liberal activist, but I was still looking at specific identity. I hadn't thought about the general liberal label bit before. I guess now we know!

Not too many people catch the little horn reference, among other things.

You of few people alive did. I find that interesting. Good detective work.

Maybe it's this guy. http://www.maitreya.org/

I've heard of this guy before, but this is the first time I've seen him or his video. Very uninspiring appearance, I would say. His website actually warns you not to be deterred by his physical presence. To me, he resembles the guy who owns a donut shop near here, but possibly with less charisma but infinitely more self-aggrandizement.

Self-description from the nut's website:

Maitreya Is The Lion of the Tribe of Juda, as Hebrews and Christians expect their Messiah to be: From the lineage of King David! He is also from the lineage of Prophet Muhammad (a Sayyed), as Muslims expect their Messiah to be!

The 27 Characteristics of the AntiChrist

Those 27 items sound like Hitler. In which case, the AC has come and gone.
Christ came again, we did not recognise Him and we are the ones left behind.
Explains a lot. IMHO
