New Mars Cydonia image released
NASA ^ | 4-16-05 | Orlando

Posted on 04/16/2005 7:54:12 AM PDT by Orlando

The image comes from Mars Odyssey spacecraft, and the image shows the very famous region of Mars called Cydonia. This image was taken on May 5th of 2004, but just released to public viewing on April of 2005.

Just click the Thumbnail image to enlarge Cydonia, and you will see the 1976-77 Viking 1 & 2 so-call Face.

This image is better than Viking 1 and 2 in some ways.

I'm most curious about how they made the large circular pits all over the place.

That's easy... that's where they dropped those giant stones while moving them.

That's the point. It repeated. The previous set showed what looked like a dissociated rubble pile, and now the new images again show a facial effect.

Why? I don't know, but it's peculiar.

ya, hogland is still out there... last time i heard him on with art bell he had some pictures of fish bones and nuts and bolts from mars or some such.

he used to be interesting, now he just sells (his books)nonsense as a pseudo-mystic charlatan (imho). lately i have only been interested by the warewoolf, time traveler and antiChrist "hotlines"...

i cant help it sometimes, still find the truly insane amusing.

"I'm most curious about how they made the large circular pits all over the place."

Obviously barbecue pits were very important to their culture. Sadly, once they tasted Eastern North Carolina Barbecue they knew that their search for perfection had already been realized on Earth and their society crumbled.

The concaved rock in the center left, with holes in it. You can also see the shadowing on the ground underneath.

Oops I thought you were commenting on post #60. The new image in question, though, shows an interesting feature at the top left.

I'm not sure. His name is Felix Silla, and he was Cousin Itt on the Adamms Family.

Addenda: according to IMBD he was born in '37, too small during production of the Wizard of Oz.

But good things come to those who wait, and he was a dang Ewok. ;)
