The New York Times has run a story on how CNN is trying to battle Fox News in the cable television news ratings wars. The paper says that one new attempt to boost CNN's overall ratings is for Larry King, the network's most popular host, to more frequently mention the host, Aaron Brown, who comes after him. CNN figures that King's popularity will rub off on Brown, and that Brown's ratings will increase. But a more effective way to boost ratings is to get hosts more in tune with the beliefs and attitudes of the public. As Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post has noted, Nancy Grace is now hosting an 8:00 pm EST time program on CNN Headline News and the ratings for that time slot have risen by 126 percent over last year.
Writing for Mediaweek, Megan Larson provided more details about this dramatic turnaround, noting that Grace is now beating MSNBC's Keith Olbermann in that time period.

Nancy Grace may be passionate, but I'm amazed at her lack of intellect and legal knowledge. It boggles my mind that she never lost a case as a prosecutor.
Olberman was a potted plant when he was on ESPN too. how did this dud ever get on TV anyway ?
CNN to fight for crime victims? Good news! Maybe they can start with Terri Schiavo...
It's all in the presentation. I saw a video of one of her now famous closing arguments when she was prosecuting a killer. She was positively spellbindingly dazzling in that video.
She ended her closing with, "He murdered her! CONVICT HIM!
She said it to that jury exactly as she says things looking straight into the camera. The jury didn't spend much time deliberating before coming back with its QUILTY verdict. Nancy has a very strong, persuasive personality.
Have you noticed that when she is a guest on Larry King Live, 85% of the callers direct their questions to Nancy Grace? Of course, she's often opposite that fool, Chris Pixley, so I'd choose Nancy over Pixley, too.
Um, I suspect she's won more than you have :)
Remember the Food Lion case? ABC reporters went undercover to expose workplace violations and selling outdated food. Well, Food Lion sued ABC for fraud and won the case. Nancy Grace debated the case with Johny Cochran on Court TV. Cochran argued that ABC was guilty of fraud because their reporters misrepresented themselves as actually wanting to work for the grocery chain. Nancy said ABC was innocent because- Food Lion sold tainted meat. Johny was stunned and tried to explain (to no avail) that the fact Food Lion sold tainted meat had nothing to do with the fraud charges against ABC. Nancy was incapable of understanding this. Totally amazing! While she certainly is passionate, she's also an idiot.
I am a Lawyer and I would agree, Nancy doesn't always state the law correctly. But she is certainly interesting to watch.
Maybe she understood Cochran's argument but just decided she'd get farther with her argument if she reiterated that Food Lion was actually guilty.
I actually like her....interesting to watch.
