If you or I violated federal law, "might" would not enter the equation. It is at least ostensible then, that illegal immigrants have more rights than you and I.You took the words right out of my mouth!
Heaven help any of us CITIZENS who might run afoul of the law, even unintentionally. And that grows more and more likely with the oppressive maze of often contradictory laws and regulations under which we currently live.
The worst thing is, any CITIZEN who dares to do anything about the problem is immediately branded a "racist" or a "vigilante" by the media, or, in the case of the Minutemen Project, by the President himself.

When Bush calls unarmed senior citizens with no criminal records " vigilantes" something has got to give. There are many cities here in California where it is no longer safe to drive at night, as the illegals control the streets.

"I'm beginning to think Bush doesn't know anything about illegals coming to America. He said he never reads a newspaper or watches TV news shows, or listens to news on the radio."
I would like to believe that, swampfox, but it defies credulity that our President is that far removed from reality. And if he is, only God can help us.

"...Last month, the Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced the arrest of 103 foreign nationals who had ties to a Central American gang known as MS-13. Authorities have arrested several dozen of the gang's members in the past several months. But John Keeley of the Center for Immigration Studies says MS-13 members number in the thousands, and "have penetrated the United States." The group's operatives "are on the west coast, in the Midwest -- they're all over really," he asserts, "and the brutality associated with this gang is remarkable -- murders, mutilations, maimings, rapes." Keeley says the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has recognized the threat of the MS-13 and established a task force expressly to address the criminal gang. However, he notes, "because U.S. policies in terms of enforcement of immigration have been so lax, we have now succeeded in importing criminal syndicates the likes of which we have not seen before. The streets aren't safe." Keeley says MS-13 operatives have met with al Qaeda operatives in Mexico, and U.S. intelligence is concerned that the illegal alien syndicate may be assisting the trafficking of al Qaeda operatives into the U.S. using the very corridors that MS-13's own operatives have used. [Chad Groening]"Ooops, I forgot. The I.C.E. and our border policy is part and parcel of the federal government under a Republican Administration. So were supposed to shut up and not say anything, and wait until a Democrat is the the White House before we can sound off. /sarc

From the article it appears it is the judges not the Bush administration that are soft on ILLEGAL immigration.
Apparently our judges don't know the meaning of word "illegal".
Sorry, beekay, you and everyone else who are so willing to give GW a "pass" on this one, are ignoring the facts

I really believe this is the issue that could catalyze a real third party movement in the US. If we have some event, another terror attack, or rioting, or some horrible crime , and it's shown to be directly related to illegals and our lack of border security, the great majority will finally say ENOUGH and sweep away from office anyone who stands in the way of getting control of this problem.

Get your head out of the sand!
Bush was born and raised in a family that has been against us being an independant nation since before the Revolution.
He's a one world socialist and a northeast liberal that just happens to live in Texas.

Not! Have you never heard of sarcasm. my friend? Example: Algor is an intelligent politician who should have been president. NOT! Get it?
It's really fun for someone on FR to tell me to get my head out of the sand concerning GB. Usually, I am about 2 inches away from being termiinated by the Republicans here for being so anti immigration, and pointing the finger at the man responsible, George Bush - and add Karl Rove to that.
