Abortion clinics around the US are "bracing for attacks" after convicted murderer and Olympic bomber Eric Rudolph issued a "manifesto" justifying attacks against such clinics and their workers. Associated Press reports that federal officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are calling US clinics to make sure their security is up to date.
'When one of these extremists puts out a call to action, oftentimes others do try to follow in their footsteps,' said Vicki Saporta, head of the National Abortion Federation, which represents 400 US clinics. 'He clearly is speaking to the extremists who believe in justifiable homicide.'
Reuters reported Thursday that Mr. Rudolph pleaded guilty to the bombing of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, as well as to attacks on abortion clinics and a gay nightclub. Rudolph said "abortion, gay rights and the federal government" motivated him to attack the targets listed above.
AccessNorthGa.com reported that one of the people in the courtroom to see Rudolph's guilty plea was "Pendergrass Police Officer Richard Jewell, the man wrongly suspected in the Olympic Park bombing for a time."

Not much mention of this LEFT WING American Terrorist in the liberal news media.

Rudolf is pretty far out there. Not only did he use the cowardly PLO tactic of terror bombs but his target selection was not logical. One can sorta see his mindset with abortion "clinics" but why bomb the city park? It was during the Olympics so it was sure to get publicity but what target could have been more innocent?
Yep, he is a deranged mad dog all right. But I still find his hiding for five years from the feds hilarious, and proving what incompetant fools they are/were.
On the bright side, the article says that Rudolph will spend the rest of his life in Supermax in the rockies. I've seen that prison on A&E documentaries. It's literally hell on earth. I find that more appealing than a death sentence for Rudolph.
I remember when Ted Kacinzsky (The Unabomber) was captured and how he was put in a positive light by the media.
Right you are. In fact, the Saturday Night Live skit actually slammed his victims as greedy pollutors while portraying Ted as Mr. Kool Dude. He was another sneaky zip wad.
Richard Jewell wasn't "wrongly suspected". He was wrongly convicted in the press, by the fads and the USOC. If you asked the average American who the Olympic Bomber was, they would say "the Unabubba".
He was a "fallen intellectual".
I think the search in the mountains proved yet again that thermals and eye-in-the-sky technology still have limits to what they can achieve.
mad dogs should be put down IMO
Where would these people's lives be without manufactured drama?
I didn't see in the article where it said he was claiming to be a Christian or doing this due to Christian beliefs.
I think he's just a nut.
And to think they found him only by sheer chance when an agent just happened to notice him by a dumpster in a grocery store parking lot.
Yep. btw, I'm pinging you to the other thread.
BBL. Have to go for now.
I don't see why they don't just withdraw his plea bargain and fry the SOB. After he made his deal he gets to release a *manifesto* showing absolutely no remorse and encouraging others to follow in his footsteps? That makes a lot of sense... NOT!
'When one of these extremists puts out a call to action, oftentimes others do try to follow in their footsteps,' said Vicki Saporta, head of the National Abortion Federation, which represents 400 US clinics. 'He clearly is speaking to the extremists who believe in justifiable homicide.'Now is it just me or isn't there in fact something 'odd' (or paradoxical?) about a person who believes in Unfettered Infanticide calling someone else an "extremist" and condemning "justifiable homicide" when she and her ilk believe in the exact same thing. As abortion if anything, sure could be called that by abortion proponents - especially those who believe in partial birth abortions.
