Some say that Gettysburg Address was a culmination. or fulfillment, of the works of the Founders.
It is too bad that they did not finish it all themselves in those early days of the Nation. Of course we here in the days of instant gratification likely cannot really place ourselves in their shoes after all.
Progress is now, always has been, and likely always shall be an uneven thing.
The most important thing is that we as a Nation ultimately got it right, and we are now, have been, and likely always shall be, the Light of the world.
Let the despots of the third world squirm, let the socialists of the old world whine. Meanwhile, we represent what no other nation has ever accomplished.
We are the beacon which guides men of principle everywhere. This is why so many flock to our shores. We offer hope, and promise to those who have none simply because they were born elsewhere.
