"Explosion reported outside building that houses British consulate in NY City"

That reminds me of a radio report that I found interesting which I was going to share with you all.

A few days ago, Ron Magers who is a long time Chicago TV news anchorman relayed a story on talk radio, about his recent trip to New York.

Long story short...he and his wife are in NY and see an abandoned briefcase on a park bench.

Mr. Magers says he knew that this is a suspicious situation and he proceeds to track down a police officer who was patrolling nearby. The police officer walks over to the briefcase as Mr. Magers and his wife increased their distance from the area assuming that the bomb squad would be called in.

Mr. Magers said he was stunned when the officer picked up the briefcase, turned to Mr. Magers, smiled and shouted "NY BOMB SQUAD!!"....as the officer proceeded to SHAKE the briefcase.

Obviously nothing exploded....but....

Dear Lord, complacency, apathy and willful ignorance can be killers. Some day the guy may shake the wrong briefcase.
