F-B-I arrests two men, one from NY, on terror charges
Sunday May 29, 2005
NEW YORK (AP) The F-B-I has arrested a New York martial arts expert and a Florida doctor on federal terrorism charges that they conspired to treat and train terrorists.
Martial-arts expert Tarik Shah and Rafiq Abdus Sabir, a Boca Raton physician, have been charged in Manhattan federal court with conspiring to provide material support to al-Qaida.
Both men are American citizens.
Prosecutors say Sabir agreed to treat jihadists, or holy warriors, in Saudi Arabia. Shah allegedly agreed to train them in hand-to-hand combat.
The one-count complaint details a sting operation from 2003 to 2005 in which the two men took an oath pledging their allegiance to al-Qaida.
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned in federal court on Tuesday, Shah in New York and Sabir in Florida.
Thank you freeperfromnj and good morning to you.

Good morning Cindy. Can you believe AQ was going to recruit and train jihadists at a warehouse in Long Island? How many more out there.
Here's a link to story.

More on the training:
As recently as May 20, during a meeting at a New York City apartment, Sabir indicated he would travel shortly to Saudi Arabia to treat the wounds of jihadists at a Saudi military base, prosecutors said. Travel records showed he was scheduled to leave Thursday......
During recorded conversations, Shah also repeatedly indicated his desire to train Muslim "brothers" in the martial arts and hand-to-hand combat, the release said......
Shah took steps to find secret locations for jihad weapons training, at one point inspecting a Long Island warehouse, and described previous efforts to recruit others, prosecutors said......

1 - Recollection of official statement there are no known sleeper cells in America; and
2 - As many as they can muster up - after all, they're protected by the ACLU, CAIR, political correctness, the MSM and liberals who hate President Bush and conservatives
The Boca Raton post yesterday illustrates planning is no fluke. The takeover began in earnest long ago.

BAPTIST LEADER BEHEADED IN BANGLADESH
Monday, May 23, 2005:
JALALPUR, Bangladesh - A Baptist lay pastor has been beheaded in Bangladesh, the second Christian leader to lose his life in that country in a year, according to a Christian news organization.
Dulal Sarkar, 35, was attacked as he returned home from discussing his faith with local villagers, reported Compass Direct, which tracks incidents of Christian persecution. One source later identified the assailants as a group of 10 local Muslim extremists. After reporting the incident, Sarkur's wife, mother and five children have been forced to move from place to place in fear for their lives.
According to local Christians, three arrests have been made, but the remaining seven alleged attackers, who reportedly have ties to the Jamaat-e-Islami political party, are still at large. They fear the political influence of Jamaat-e-Islami may prevent the case from going to court, Compass Direct reported.
Meanwhile, Sarkur's widow has asked a Christian orphanage to take three of their five children because she cannot afford to support them.
The incident is the second beheading in a year, the news service said. Abdul Gani, a prominent Christian and physician, reportedly was decapitated by a gang in the district of Jamalpur as he returned home from work in September 2004. Gani was a counsel member of the Bangladesh Baptist Fellowship.

"Pakistan tribal leader shot dead" (One Day After Government Says Islamic Terrorists Gone)
BBC ^ | 29 May 2005 | BBC News - World Edition
Posted on 05/30/2005 10:41:45 AM PDT by Cornpone
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Gunmen have shot dead a pro-government tribal leader in South Waziristan, a day after Pakistan said all militants had been cleared from the area. Former lawmaker Faridullah Khan was one of the elders met by journalists taking part in a tour organised earlier to show the improved security.
He was shot dead on Sunday in his car near Jandola, 60km (35 miles) east of South Waziristan's main town of Wana.
The army had said any remaining militants had been driven north.
Mr Khan died at the scene along with his driver.
No-one has yet said they carried out the attack.
Mr Khan, a former government minister and senate member, was on his way to the town of Tank, officials said.
He and other tribal leaders had met Islamabad-based reporters on Saturday in the valley of Shakia.
Mr Khan hosted a lunch and thanked the army for helping to secure the valley."

"Mosque Blast, Attack Kills 4 in Pakistan"
Monday, May 30, 2005
KARACHI, Pakistan
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The attack at the Karachi mosque came three days after a suspected bomber attacked a Shiite religious gathering during a festival at a shrine near Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, killing about 20 people and injuring dozens of others.
The motive of the Karachi attack was not clear. Political and sectarian violence between radical groups within the majority Sunni and minority Shiite Muslims is not uncommon in Karachi, however."
