The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

We now know more about an alleged attack that triggered an increased national threat level last summer.

That's when U.S. officials said they had uncovered a plot targeting financial institutions. The plot involved bombs, banks and British nationals.

The detail was startling, the targets enormous. They included financial buildings in Washington, New York and New Jersey.

Terrorist Group Designation by U.S. State Department

The State Department, acting under President Bush's Executive Order 13224 issued after the 9-11 attacks,, has announced the designation of Islamic Jihad Group (a.k.a. Jama'at al-Jihad; Libyan Society; Kazakh Jama'at; Jamaat Mojahedin Jamiyat; Jamiat al-Jihad al-Islami; Dzhamaat Modzhakhedov; Islamic Jihad Group of Uzbekistan; or al-Djihad al-Islami) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. and if your eyes don't bleed from trying to read them, I'd be interested in knowing what you think! Those are the posts that I'm wondering about. Some seem to say that they don't believe Zarqawi is injured and that it's a ploy on someones part.

Unofficial and uncertain news coming from brothers close to and in contact with the Mujahideen reports that the Sheikh is in stable condition. He was wounded in the right lung.

Also he will be, by the Grace of Allah, surrounded by Mujahideen doctors from the Arabic Peninsula and the Sudan.

seems to say he was wounded and is refusing treatment.

This sentence

seems to say - increase the attacks in honor of Zarqawi.

But, that's just my guess :-)

1st link: Sounds like they're saying that the attacks have increased because he's wounded.

2nd link: Sounds like they're giving 3 reasons that this rumor of his being wounded may have occured. Just speculating.
