The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

We now know more about an alleged attack that triggered an increased national threat level last summer.

That's when U.S. officials said they had uncovered a plot targeting financial institutions. The plot involved bombs, banks and British nationals.

The detail was startling, the targets enormous. They included financial buildings in Washington, New York and New Jersey.

HANCOCK COUNTY - ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The packages were balls of tightly wound plastic bags, individually wrapped with electrical tape, with nails, tacks and glass shavings inside. While the bomb squad detonated one of the packages, officials stopped short of calling it a bomb.

Adam said none of the packages were equipped with a trigger device - gunpowder, trip wire or electric detonator - so officials would only refer to them as "packages."

The strange packages have left local authorities and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms investigators with several unanswered questions: Who put them along the roadway in the Stennis buffer zone? Why were they there? And were they the beginning stages of a bomb?"

Saudi Arabia: 'Voice of the Jihad' Editor Reportedly Arrested

You can find many reports about various issues of "Voice of Jihad" in the archives here. It is a primary Internet recruitment tool for the mujahedin. From AKI, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

Riyadh, 11 May (AKI) - A militant arrested two days ago in the Saudi capital Riyadh has been identified by the police as the man in charge of al-Qaeda's information operation in the country. The pan-Arab newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat quotes a source from the Saudi interior ministry as saying he is the editor of the monthly on-line magazine 'Voice of the Jihad'. The Saudi national is reported to have been arrested after being injured during a gun battle on Monday.
A statement from the ministry said Abdel Aziz bin Rashid bin Hamdan al-Tawili al-Anzi is "one of the promoters of deviant ideology" ("deviant" being the word the Saudi authorities often use to refer to al-Qaeda), publishing statements from al-Qaeda's Saudi cell on the internet. The interior ministry also said his preaching and statements were used to defame peaceful Islamic principles "for evil purposes", and that al-Anzi said it was permissible to shed non-Muslim blood and kill security officers on religious grounds.

I'd like to see the Interior Ministry refute those assertions on Islamic grounds.

Yes, that link is worth reading again. I read your link earlier just before I posted the related article. I wanted to doublecheck that the article was not posted earler.

In a somewhat related vein, we can only imagine what else is happening (and has been all along) on our own soil as we -- like imbeciles -- pc ourselves to our own detriment while "respecting" muslims who want to kill us and rule the world. The islamists continue to twist our freedom against us and it is an insult. An even grander insult because we so foolishly let it happen. Even post-911 and all the many other prior attacks... Despite some helpful changes here and there in the past few years, it really is no wonder the killers still laugh at our lameness.
