Because they are not men. They only target the weak, the young, and the innocent. And when they decide to attack the strong they normally do so using the dumb, the indoctrinated, and the demented (eg homicide bombers). These oafs think they are the modern incarnations of Saladin, but the truth is Saladin would probably slay them and stick their heads on a pike for cowardice!
I want to say these people are beasts, but i cannot think of a beast that does what these people do.
I also want to call them monsters, but monster by definition is an evil but worthy foe. These scum are not worthy. They are merely evil. They are not malevolent dragons that need to be slain .....they are a dark pestilence that needs to be disinfected. The Soviets may have been an evil empire, but they were a worthy foe. The Chinese shall some day be a foe like no other. But Jihadis are merely a collection of murderers!
Hence my term for them ......evil scum of the earth.
If I was going to take a chance working in that part of the world as a civilian I wouldn't be without one.
I'm originally from around there (got my wedding dress there).
