Liberal Lunatic of the Day (4/13/2005)

Kathy Kelly was arrested at Senator Richard Durbin’s office in Chicago, on April 5, along with three other anti-war activists.  The Senate Appropriations Committee is to consider a spending bill on April 6 to provide nearly $80 billion more to fund the war in Iraq.  They sought a pledge from Senator Durbin to vote against the bill.

Kelly was informed that that Senator Durbin will vote for the supplemental spending bill.  Kelly and her group then disrupted the operations of the senator's office by reading the names of US soldiers and Iraqi civilians who have lost their lives in the war.  A bell tolled after each reading of the pairing of a US soldier and an Iraqi civilian.

After disrupting the senator's office for 20 minutes, officers of the Federal Protective Service (FPS) were called.  They directed Kelly and her associates to end their demonstration.  When they refused and continued reading the names and tolling their bells, the anti-American activists were detained by the FPS on two charges, creating a disturbance and failing to obey the directions of the officers.

Kathy Kelly, founder of Voices in the Wilderness and an international activist, is a professional pain in the butt.  She served eight months in jail for protesting at the School of the Americas at Fort Benning, Georgia in 2004.  In 1988 she spent a year in prison for planting corn on nuclear missile silo sites.

Any enemy of the United States is a friend of Kathy Kelly’s.  She is a supporter of Marxists in Venezuela, Nicaragua, Chile and Cuba.  She will be a speaker at Cuba Action Day, April 27th.  The goal of Cuba Action Day is the lifting of the U.S. embargo.  Kelly has refused payment of all Federal income tax for 25 years.  She has said that the United States has become the most dangerous warlike culture in human history, conveniently forgetting Alexander’s Greece, Caesar’s Rome, the Huns, the Mongols, Napoleon’s France, Hitler’s Germany and Imperial Japan.

Kelly is a member of the "blame the victim" crowd, writing, "we ask ourselves why individuals, some of them young, rational people with their whole lives ahead of them, would hate the US and its allies so much that they would commit acts of massive destruction and end their own lives as well."

Kelly has vigorously supported Saddam Hussein since 1991.  She has campaigned to end economic and military warfare against the Saddam Hussein regime.  Kelly and her organization are also active in military counter recruitment, providing information about war tax resistance and supporting anti-ROTC/JROTC, conscientious objection, GI rights, the poverty draft, and alternatives to military service programs.

..Yet these neo-hippies never once read the names of the million or so killed under Saddam...

These are the type of people who would have thought leaving Hitler in power would be better than being involved in WWII...

Their hero:

"We, the German Führer and Chancellor, and the British Prime Minister, have had a further meeting today and are agreed in recognizing that the question of Anglo-German relations is of the first importance for our two countries and for Europe. We regard the agreement signed last night and the Anglo-German Naval Agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again. We are resolved that the method of consultation shall be the method adopted to deal with any other questions that may concern our two countries, and we are determined to continue our efforts to remove possible sources of difference, and thus to contribute to assure the peace of Europe." Chamberlain read the above statement in front of 10 Downing St. and said:

"My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time... Go home and get a nice quiet sleep."

I personally know Kelly and other members of Voices in the Wilderness. Their group has been going to Iraq for years. Saddam welcomed them warmly. Why do Christian pacifists (if they are such), also need to wrap themselves in a Marxist-Socialist ideology. They would be more believable if they would stay a-political. I respect a Christian pacifist if they simply stick to the opinion that they believe that this was Christ's intent and the belief of the early Christian community. The early Christian community pretty much stayed out of the political affairs of the Roman Empire. Some individuals in this group have done good individual "works of mercy"---helping out individuals in need while they were in Iraq, but the larger rational of the group is definitely leftist.

If you know Kelly, then have you ever asked her about the millions of dead Iraqi's Saddam killed?

Probably never had a job in her life and has been living off of the fleece from other traitors and their donations.

Met an older woman like this at the local grocery store the other night..she was complaining about being in Iraq and how bad it was.

I said to her it would be worse living in dafar(spelling), she had no clue about dafar...

These people truly are ignorant to anything except their own issues...

One older guy called her a whiney b!tch & told her to move to France if she didn't like the way things were here, a lot of the people in the store gave her an evil glare and then she left

Not for nothing, but I'm 100% behind her if she's going to aggravate the crap out of that Clymer, Dick Durbin. :)

The Chicago Tribune Sunday magazine did a puff-piece on this nutjob a few months back. Almost had her up for sainthood.

These are the type of people who would have thought leaving Hitler in power would be better than being involved in WWII...

That was only until Hitler dispatched his legions to Russia in the final grab at lebensraum that he foretold in Mein Kampf. It was then that the world's fellow travelers and other assorted commie sympathizers got the high sign from Moscow that it was OK to fight Nazism.

Oh well, she is probably going to be pardoned by the co-president who is manically hoping and scheming to be a real president someday, although it depends on Mrs. Bill Clinton getting enough felons and illegal immigrants to vote for her.

... One year ago, I wrote a piece exposing radical Islam within Florida Atlantic University (FAU). My goal was twofold: [1] to bring awareness concerning a growing problem within FAU [2] to push the university to take action so that this problem ceases to exist. Unfortunately, only the first part of my goal was accomplished, as FAU is continuing to allow radicals on its campus, the latest being this Saturday'S (Jan.22, 2005) return engagement of potential co-conspirator to the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, Siraj Wahhaj.

The Enemy Thrives at FAU

In recent times, a fairly large list of Islamist radicals and/or those that sympathize with the Islamist cause have passed through the university. This list includes professors that the university had itself hired to teach its students (two of which still teach there). Professors such as:

1. Mustafa Abu Sway, who was discovered to have had numerous ties to the terrorist organization HAMAS

2. Khalid Hamza, who had used a Texas A & M internet forum to defend Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Sami Al-Arian

3. Bassem Alhalabi, who was found guilty of exporting a $13,000 thermal imaging device to Syria.

4. Imadeldin Imad Mahgoub, who was featured on a panel discussion with HAMAS fundraiser Raed Awad

At least one FAU student, Syed Khawer Ahmad, was found to have played a role in the world of radical Islam. While Ahmad was attending classes at FAU, he was the webmaster of the homepage for the Islamic Society, the Palestinian group that spawned HAMAS.

The final bunch are those that were invited by the FAU [Florida Atlantic University] Muslim Student Organization (MSO) to speak on campus. This is the same MSO that created two Islamic centers in Boca Raton, one of which houses two religious leaders that have been accused of having direct ties to terrorist organizations.

The guest lecturers included:

1. Rafil Dhafir, the past Vice Chairman of the Islamic Assembly of North America (IANA), who was convicted of raising money for terrorist organizations through an Iraqi children’s charity called Help the Needy

2. Al-Haaj Ghazi Khankan, the Executive Director of the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), who is quoted as having pledged his support for the HAMAS and Hezbollah terrorist groups

3. Kathy Kelly, the co-founder of Voices in the Wilderness, who served time in a federal prison for trespassing onto the Ft. Benning military base in Georgia

4. William Baker, who has been described by many as a “neo-Nazi” for his hate-filled writings and his involvement in a white-supremacist organization
