The lead organizer for the border patrol group the Minutemen said Tuesday that he wants to invite New York Sen. Hillary Clinton to come to the Arizona-Mexico border this month to review their operation, which has so far netted the arrests of more than 300 illegal immigrants.
"We're thinking of inviting Hillary Clinton," Minuteman founder James Gilchrist told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity, adding that he'd already looked into flight arrangements to Arizona for the former first lady and could provide appropriate security.
Gilchrist's decision to invite Clinton was likely prompted by her tough comments on border security - remarks that place her sharply to the right of the Bush administration on the issue.
"I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants," she announced in Feb. 2003 radio interview, adding that "people have to stop employing illegal immigrants."
"I mean, come up to Westchester, go to Suffolk and Nassau counties," Clinton railed. "Stand on the street corners in Brooklyn or the Bronx; you're going to see loads of people waiting to get picked up to go do yard work and construction work and domestic work."
"Clearly, we have to make some tough decisions as a country," the top Democrat urged.
In comments last November, the likely 2008 presidential nominee blasted the Bush administration for turning a blind eye to the problems at the border.
"I don't think that we have protected our borders or our ports or provided our first responders with the resources they need, so we can do more and we can do better," Clinton told the Fox News Channel.
"There's technology now available," she noted. "There are some advanced radar systems. There are biometric and other kinds of identification systems that we've been very slow to deploy and unwilling to spend money on."
Gilchrist said his patrol operation is open to Clinton and anyone else who wants to review its progress, explaining, "When I first launched this in October I insisted that we have open season for all law enforcement to come in and do whatever they want - and the same with the media."
And he pointed out the obvious political benefit for any politician who wants to lend support, noting, "For every [Minuteman] down here we've probably got a hundred thousand supporters across the country."
Gilchrist said the Minutemen have already helped round up scores of illegals.
"About 300," he told Hannity. "And about 40 of those were from an aerial observer who was up six hours yesterday in his aircraft."
"President Bush better go meet the MMP before that woman gains a point for the next election."
More than a point. With the Clintons' campaigning skills, it could be a defining issue. Rush has been trying to warn the GOP about this. [Helpless shrug.]
I think Tancredo has already been down here twice. Now, Sen. Kyl should definitely make an appearance if the Hildebeast shows. He's been burned badly over the past week for pro-amnesty comments he recently made. Today he announced that he and Sen. Cornyn are drafing new "guest worker" legislation that will NOT include any form of amnesty or rewards for lawbreakers. He could further redeem himself if he also came down here and certainly if he squared off against Hillary and exposed her for the fraud that she is on this issue.
Rush gave the GOP fair warning this could happen.
"Second, if she does appear, this should embarass congressional Republicans to be crawling all over themselves to come down to show that they're more on top of this issue than the Hildebeast."
And it would be too late. The Clintons would steamroll them before its over.
She ain't going to show up, no matter your panting at her pant suit(ole crusty) showing up.
To Dane
"She ain't going to show up, no matter your panting at her pant suit(ole crusty) showing up."
My you are angry. Looks like the minutemen hit a nerve here. This is what I think of Hellery:

Not angry at all, just noting your panting at ole crusty(hillary's pantsuit) showing up with the minutemen.
Denial is an ugly thing. Face it, the GOP is taking a big risk snubbing the Minutemen.
I'd still rather that they had also invited someone like Tancredo,>>>>>>>>
TT has already met with the MM on the border.......excerpts from his speech.

Also, last week Tom invited both the President & Condi to meet with the MM.
> Leave it to the Democrats to turn the tables... That is exactly what Hillary is going to do to us and she knows exactly where to start - immigration!
It would be nice if the Minutemen forced the issue. But I don't think Rodham will be showing up in Arizona, and I don't think she's going to come up with any concrete proposals to deal with illegals. Are you kidding? She needs their votes.
Remember the OKC bombing? clinton successfully discredited the "militia movement" at that time. I am NOT comparing the Minutemen with the "militias." The point is that organized citizens are exactly what the clintons do not want. Think Waco. Rodham will sidestep this and make pronouncements on immigration another day.
Yeah righht, whatever, get back to your panting of the event that won't happen, ole crusty(hillary's pantsuit) showing up embracing the minutemen.
You are being so ugly to me, but I understand. You're worried. It's called anger transference.
Maybe the pubbies should of responded to the 'border invite' they received LAST WEEK !
Right. I would have been proud of Bush if he had met with them, admitted they aren't vigilantes. He was invited there after insulting them. I guess he's scared of his own citizens. He shouldn't be scared of them. Maybe he'd sleep better at night if he hired illegal aliens to be his personal guards, if he wants them in America so badly.
At the same time, most of us have been concerned that the rats would exploit this. We've been trying our darndest to bring the GOP on board.
I'm not in on this info, I didn't hear it on the Hannity segment I was listening to.
Without having read any other comments, I think this would really hammer a nail in Hillary's coffin, because I doubt seriously that she herself would appear...and that puts the lie to her earlier statement of being adamantly opposed to illegal immigration.
For the record, I regard that statement as a political lie.
This is great, put your money where your mouth is.
DP
*LOL* Yep. Still, there's no way I trust Hillary on this issue. She just wants her air time, and the MMP is probably just considering capitalizing on that.
This is just bad news for the republicans....
They really need to WAKE UPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!! and close the borders!
