Why is this little demon of a grand daughter not being harassed and sued and injuncted ?

Her reach extends into Alabama? This is crazy.

They will need help from the "big guns" in the pro life movement quickly before the very money and organized death advocates come in. Does anybody know how to connect them up with legal help and fast? They don't seem to understand what they may be up against. This is what happened with Terri.

So much of this sounds crazy. From saying that the grandmother has suffered so much, to that she has prayed about it and interprets "going home" as dying and then claiming that Jesus has told the grandma to come home. This is not the stuff typically used to make a court case.

How can any hospice not provide adequate hydration and food? Start the malpractice suit now and see if the wheels don't come to a grinding halt.

I hope that Judge Greer is proud of the flood waters that have begun since he opened the gate.

Does the grand daughter stand to inherit a significant amount of money from Grandma's demise?

At Pro Life News: Georgia Grandma Receiving Food, Water Mae Magouirk, the Georgia grandma whose granddaughter ordered her nutrition and hydration removed on March 28 even though such action was contrary to the 81-year-old’s living will, was airlifted Saturday from a LaGrange, Ga., hospice to the University of Alabama-Birmingham Medical Center. According to her nephew, Ken Mullinax, the woman is “receiving food, fluids, cardiac care and neurological help”. Posted by Editor at April 12, 2005 06:31 AM

As soon as they learned their aunt was at the medical center, Ken Mullinax and his younger brother, Jonathan, drove to the medical center where the charge nurse informed them about the order. She demanded that they leave and had them escorted from the hospital by three armed security agents.

Sound familiar????

It didn't take long for the copy cats to start. There are probably others out there that we aren't hearing about because there are no relatives contesting. Hope there are some decent judges in Alabama and that guardianship is taken away from the granddaughter.

She is in the hospital getting care. I think she will soon be able to make her wishes clear. So she is not being starved in hospice.

Sounds a little like Michael Schiavo 'remembering' Terri saying she didn't want to be hooked up to machines. How in the world can thinking people go along with this nonsense? This Gaddy woman 'prays' about it and claims Jesus told her it's time for grandma to come home? Meanwhile, the hospice, an interested party, continues to bill family/medicare/taxpayers. Where is the grandmother's personal physician????

"It's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen in my life," he said."

Thefar-reaching implications of the final determination re Terry Shiavo have not been fully comprehended. . .but seems, we have only, 'just begun'. . .

Just what I wondered. Had the granddaughter seen grandma's will?

Hospice is an incredible organization; has helped members of my family; I am, however, beginning to wonder. . .if this organization does not need at least, some scrutiny, however. . .

Sounds like she's pulling a "Michael" and getting away with it.
It saves money in the estate, I suppose.

"I don't care if they are the best doctors in the whole world. I have prayed about this and God has told me that Grandmamma is ready to go home with Jesus and Granddaddy.

Even though I have not uttered those words, they SURE DO leave a putrid taste in MY mouth. To think that the wacked out grand daughter is trying to put God's stamp-of-approval on the murder of Grandmamma, it's sick!

But, maybe she said that in an attempt to gain approval from the Christians/pro-lifers/pro-Terri people who rose up in support over Terri.(and now Granny)

I remember reading about quite a few murderers who claimed that they were told by God to kill, kill, kill.

Hospice care is apparently not what most Americans think it is. I think we need to seriously look into Hospice care and get legislators to pass laws governing them that address their apparently willingness and even eagerness to kill people.
It was an eye opener when we looked into Hospice to help my Father with my Mother during her illness. Their whole aura was of death. They passed and got a visiting nurse instead.
And, I am not a legal expert (altho I think laws ought to be plain and simple so the average bumpkin like me can understand them) but the law should not allow family members to be barred from seeing ill loved ones unless someone has proven to the court that it is really detrimental to the person in the hospital or hospice. It seems way too easy for one relative to take control of someone and not allow anyone else in the family access to make sure they are not being abused. And not feeding and hydrating an elderly women is most assuredly abuse.

This is sickening. Number one, she did what she did originally in getting her to the hospice based on a fraudulent statement so it should have no standing and should have been used to deny her guardianship. She clearly wants to kill her grandmother "for her own good".

Second, why does this probate Judge's order in Georgia hold sway over these citizens in Alabama, contrary to law? The brother should take it immediately to the Alabama courts where I believe he will fare much, much better.

These judges are out of control and now, since what happened with Terri, every knitwhit wanting to kill their older relatives or infrim relatives is coming out of the woodwork to take advantage of it. Truth be known, I am afraid it has been going on under all of our noses for some time.

Good to see you JH2!
