In the next few days a couple of us are going to experiment with putting live scanner traffic up on the internet

That will be EXCELLENT!
AND, will get more support for the project IMHO.

You know, it would also be kool to have webcam. People could watch from home, while the nearby minutemen could recreate a bit, play cards maybe. While most FReepers are better off to keep on doing what they're doing, maybe some of the people living on the borders would have an invested interest. They could even expand the zone of visibility.
