Along a border between Mexico and Arizona, a few dozen gunslingers are patrolling for illegal immigrants, and the fact that they have attracted mostly television cameras so far takes little away from the danger they pose to themselves and others. It would be far saner to leave the patrolling of the border to the border patrol. These self-proclaimed "Minutemen" - whom President Bush has rightly labeled vigilantes - should put their guns away and look where the real solutions to America's flawed immigration policy should be found: in Washington.

Exactly & worth repeating. In fact, they'd have spent volumes of ink arguing against the Federalist Papers. Can you imagine them supporting the 2nd Amendment as it is written?

Don't be foolish and hire anyone who isn't currently working as a housekeeper/cleaner or you may just find that you are cleaned out. Too many of these people will steal anything not nailed down.
Always be sure to ask for the business license number and then call the local cops to see if there is any complaints about them.
I'd hire one of the girls the apartment complex uses. But no matter, I'm not going to do it. And I'm not going to buy Chinese. My little protest.

Yes, some are, but only for self defense.
Put "maid" and your home town in Google.com You'll find a dozen local companies. Ask for the names of four current customers and be sure to call for verification that they do good work.
These people can clean your home the way a maid does a hotel room. A lot of local housewives do this kind of work. They work in pairs.

We should sell all that federal land, not just on the border, but also in Colorado ... and in the cities. You wouldn't believe how much land in the cities is owned by some fed agency or quasi-agency and is not paying property taxes to the local schools.
Sell the unused land and pay down the national debt. Then the private property owners can do what they want with their private property.... including a fencing easement to whoever wants to buy it.
There's a 50 or 150 foot easement right along the border that is Federal property.
