As the son of a two-term congressman and a United States Senate candidate, Mr. Bush won a coveted spot with the Texas Air National Guard to avoid combat in Vietnam. I wonder if this maggot has any proof of that or was it just another cheap shot by a Liberal MSM Bush-hater.

I'm 52, and still exercise strenuously, running weight lifting, etc....I owned a fitness center. Amazing that the President trains at 170 beats per minute. And to burn 1300 calories on a Lifecycle means he has to do at least an hour... absolutely incredible physical shape. God Bless him.
Kind of makes mockery of old Bill Clinton who jogged for the 30 second photo opt...and then stopped for donuts and coffee.

First, Mr. Bush's iPod is heavy on traditional country singers like George Jones, Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney.Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney are hardly "traditional" country singers.

Bush is way out of touch!

18-mile mountain bike ride at his Texas ranch.. Just how big is this ranch anyway? Did he ride in circles? He must of.

As an aside... I just received my iPod MINI from Citibank (they were giving them away to anyone who signed up for one of their checking accounts, and deposited at least $2,500). I really like the little device. It works well with both my music and Audible books. The battery life appears to be less than advertised, however (I say "appears", because I haven't let it run down to empty yet - I am going by the LED indicator on the screen).
Citibank is now offering a free iPod Shuffle in exchange for signing up for one of their credit cards. I just signed up for that deal, so I should be able to report back on the iPod Shuffle in a couple of months.

Nonetheless, Mr. McKinnon said that Mr. Bush had not gone so far as to include on his playlist "Fortunate Son," the angry anti-Vietnam war song about who has to go to war that Mr. Fogerty sang when he was with Creedence Clearwater Revival. ("I ain't no senator's son ... Some folks are born silver spoon in hand.") As the son of a two-term congressman and a United States Senate candidate, Mr. Bush won a coveted spot with the Texas Air National Guard to avoid combat in Vietnam. Hey Mr. Journalist Man, "Fortunate Son" is way more of a match for one ex-VP Al Gore, son of a Senator, and recipient of a low-risk short-tour in Vietnam.
(Note: I don't hold the terms of Al Gore's Vietnam service against him - between his Senator father and brass looking to avoid high-profile injuries, he probably had little say in the matter. However, Al's later campaign bragging about seeing combat is another matter.....)

The NY Times actually wrote an article and seems surprised that a guy from Texas likes country music, and somone, who came of age in the 60's might like some basic rock music, and listens to it when he works out.
They actually paid somone to write this, visited somone else to get an opinion, and actually seem surprised to realize that the President is a consumer of culture in his own way.
Wow, what ground breaking journalism, this is pulitzer prize stuff.

tunes aimed at getting the presidential heart rate up to a chest-pounding 170 beats per minute. Hmmm. The formula for max heart rate is 220 - age, so President Bush comes in at 220 - 58 = 162 bpm. That's what he should be maxing at. All he really needs for conditioning and weight loss is 85% of max, so a real workout max for him should probably by (162 x 0.85 =) 137.7 .
I'm not a cardiologist, but I spend a lot of time with them now :-( . So this isn't a professional opinion, but my hunch is the President might be wise to cool it a little.... After all, we want him around for a very long time!

Rolling Stone Music Editor Joe Levy.
The things that shaped my life, like comic books, rock and roll, and television were important, even if they werent considered art, Levy said. These were things that were easy, and they matter.
Levy said rock and roll, which he estimates to be 45 to 50 years old, has a broad classification, which is expanding constantly and he is central to defining as a Rolling Stone editor.
There isnt a soul in the world who isnt passionate about Britney, he said. They either love her or they hate her.
Neil Strauss from the New York Times called Levy, an unabashed, self-righteous propagandist for pop musics ephemeral pleasures. In other words, indie-rock was over, he had a reservation at Union Square Café with Elastica, and hey, were a winner, baby!
Rolling Stone has a circulation of 1.5 million. It is important in shaping the identity of teenagers, Levy said.
