Tokyo hit by 5-6 quake in the Ibaraki/Chiba prefectures.
Considering how unusually peaceful the world is right now and the below average number of large earthquakes for many years no, it would not seem that any sort of "Rapture" is imminent.
I'm not sure that anyone would be able to predict whether it was imminent or not.
In the meantime, would you please not hijack this thread on the earthquake with your religious agenda?
Why does the sun go on shining
Why does the sea rush to shore
Don't they know it's the end of the world
'Cause you don't love me any more
Why do the birds go on singing
Why do the stars glow above
Don't they know it's the end of the world
It ended when I lost your love
I wake up in the morning and I wonder
Why everything's the same as it was
I can't understand, no, I can't understand
How life goes on the way it does
Why does my heart go on beating
Why do these eyes of mine cry
Don't they know it's the end of the world
It ended when you said goodbye
Why does my heart go on beating
Why do these eyes of mine cry
Don't they know it's the end of the world
It ended when you said goodbye
What's the Shindo scale? Is that one of those seismic moment or moment magnitude dealies?
LOL!
I didn't even know I had a religous agenda.
I just think its all a very strange coencedence.
It could be Bush's fault
It's sort of like a woman going through birth pains, isn't it?
Japan has a different earthquake scale than the Richter scale. Shin - Do literally means Earthquake - Amount in Japanese.
A 5-6 is not enough to cause much damage in Japan, but it IS enough to throw objects from shelves and topple heavy objects.
Tokyo, Nearby Chiba Region, Shaken By Earthquake at 7:22 AM
April 11 (Bloomberg) -- An earthquake jolted central Japan around Tokyo this morning, rocking buildings in the city's center.
The quake, which struck at 7:22, local time, had a magnitude of 6.1, Japan's Meteorological Agency said, according to the Japanese standard.
There was no danger of tsunami, the powerful ocean waves caused by seismic activity, the agency said.
The two runways at Tokyo's Narita international airport are closed for inspection after the temblor, NHK reported.

Bush's fault! :)
shhhhhh, don't tell!
That would be so cool! We could put "neener neener neener." LOL.
The 8 and up quakes are newsworthy. Why is the press carrying stories about these little shakers that do not do justice to the moon phase hypothesis?
