BTW, I love your tagline.
That's what money and minders do for you.
What did the finder do, kick her a few times to see if she was alive?
A very poorly written sentence. We've been seeing a lot of that lately. I guess the new crop of reporters and editors come from government schools and journalism departments too concerned with political correctness and activism to worry about clear and concise, or at least coherent writing.
I hardly think it is sink who is acting the fool on this thread.
Whatever we think of Ted Kennedy (I depsise him) or the rest of that clan, this is a sad story. Joan Kennedy is an old lady now, and, sadly a public drunk as sink said, and as her children well know. The guardian-ship thing was alread obtained for financial, etc. decisions, I guess they are trying to gain day-to-day guardianship. It is a very sad situation for these kids, no matter how bad their father, or their politics. The fact that the mother is protesting should come as no surprise to anyone, not to anyone who knows anything about alcoholics that is.
Sinkspur, it is good they are trying to care for their mother, it is sad it has come to such a pass, it is unfortunate that with public fame comes public shame, but in all reality I guess the Kennedys are used to that aspect, and as for Joan, let's face it, she's not really concerned.
Just a crying shame. Really.
I will be praying for Joan's recovery. Many years ago, she fell hopelessly in love with the loser, and arguably a killer, Teddy. He is responsible for her situation.
I give her children credit for fighting to save their Mom's life.
I'm a firm believer in personal responsibility, but if there was EVER a case of a woman being driven to drink, it's Joan.
I do too. It's not easy to have someone you love hell bent of killing themselves and climbing into a bottle.
Beware Joan, remember Terri, once the judicial gives them control over your very life, be afraid, be very afraid, the scuba diver is hovering ever near.
She's no longer the babe who got tubby ex-hubby elected to the Senate when he had a broken neck. He dumped her years ago and traded her in for a new model---the Victoria. She is now an inconvenience. Now, at the request of her children (and his), she has been found "incompetent" by a court in Kennedychusetts. Does this mean that she is going to be dehydrated and/or starved to death?

No, he has no shame. He left Mary Jo to die in that car and moved on with his life. He dumped Joan and later married a younger woman and moved on with his life. He leaves wreckage in his wake but never misses a step.
You and I wouldn't get this kind of cooperation from the court, no way. Once again here in MA the law is shaped and greased to serve the needs of the Kennedys. Amazing.
They had guardinship the night she collapsed. Where were her kids?
Does guardianship = guard the trust funds?
Take a look at his face without television makeup. He's drinking somewhere; the S.O.B. looks like the "Picture of Dorian Gray".
regards,
Jeepers. Take off the top half and you have Milton Berle...
Pray for W and Our Troops
Poor woman. I wonder if Rosemary Kennedy's fate has crossed her mind. I wouldn't be surprised if Joan ends up locked away in an institution until Patrick wins his election.
An angry mom
Joan Kennedy, who recently was found drunk and passed out on a Boston street, has listed her Cape Cod home for sale for nearly $6.5 million.
But her children have been her guardian since 2004, and their lawyer says Kennedy, the former wife of Sen. Edward Kennedy, has no legal authority to sell the house.
She's basically trying to retaliate against her own children by taking one of the things we love the most, which is Cape Cod, said her son Edward Kennedy Jr. It's very sad. This is the house we grew up in.
He added: We're trying to save our mother's life, simply put.
