"The smartest Royal in England's history was the one who abdicated the throne. If all the Royals had the fortitude to do this both they and the public would be freed, though I suspect bear bating would make a comeback."
Bear bating comeback, that's funny. The Royals ought to stick it to the nasty British media and certain of the public, and abdicate en masse. Then tourism would take a gigantic dive in that dreary little gray country, which doesn't have much else going for it other than the royals. Would serve them right.
"I've seen a lot of ordinary men do extraordinary things for their wives who have run into psychological difficulties. She wasn't that far gone, or she wouldn't have been able to do the things she did."
You seem to be overly empathizing with Diana here. Are you seeing similarities perhaps to your own psychological difficulties?
Oh dear! As a citizen of said country, who's seen a great deal of more other countries than he cares to remember but wouldn't choose for a moment to live anywhere else, the only adjective I recognise here is 'little' - and even that only in a strictly relative geographical sense.
Thanks for clearing that up but the story still doesn't pass the smell test.
"Oh it's you again princess
Trust me, I am NOT following your sour little self around."
More wonderful words of wisdom from the self-titled "Christian". Perhaps you should put on your homepage "sarcastic Christian".
Thanks for the info about Parker-Bowles. Since I don't read tabloids, I knew nothing of this.
And I correct myself--P-B wasn't at the church ceremony, but the civil one.
God knows we all need mercy and forgiveness in this life. May C & C find grace for remainder of their lives.
No, I am in worse shape than she ever was, but I never lost my sense of compassion or my humanity.
After my horrible marriage and divorce, I was with a lot of men before I came to my senses.
I can only imagine how the unloving christian people here would trash me.
This is the last straw for me. I can no longer be a part of any of it. Au revoir.
Dei morti parla bene.
i think the prince sux.
this country was founded on anti-royalism.
i think hollywood sux, 2.
You sound like a good person. Don't let the "christians in name only" people get you down.
I'm leaving this thread as well. Hard to debate with people that talk out of both sides of their mouths.
He's still funny looking, and has horrible taste in women (or woman at least, picked a good trophy wife)
Do you consider your posts about Camilla to be the way a good Christian should behave?
I don't have a problem with you calling me sarcastic. Christians aren't perfect. But I'm upfront about that.
You have been worse to Camilla than I have been to Diana, but you are accusing me of being a bad Christian?
Take a look at yourself. (princess)
"Do you consider your posts about Camilla to be the way a good Christian should behave?"
I never said I was a Christian.
"I don't have a problem with you calling me sarcastic. Christians aren't perfect. But I'm upfront about that"
This is major hypocracy. You're a Christian so it's ok if you're a bitch to people because God forgives all, right? You can call people hateful names because you aren't a "perfect Christian" so it's ok? People like you run off alot of people who are looking into joining a Christian church.
I didn't accuse you of being a bad Christian because you trashed Diana. I said you're a hypocrite for calling yourself a Christian then calling a woman you don't even know a slut. I think you are dying to call me a name, hence the sarcastic "princess".
Please don't post to me anymore. I will no longer post to you.
"the only adjective I recognise here is 'little' - and even that only in a strictly relative geographical sense."
Sorry. I was engaging in a bit of hyperbole brought on by the constant royal bashing that goes on around here by people who have nothing better to do. The U.K. is a fine country. The dreary gray part of my comment was really in reference to the constant rainy weather there. And I do feel that the U.K. would lose a rather large bit of its luster as a tourist country if the royals weren't there. And all the trashy tabloid press would be out of business. Having said that, I have a relative in London, and have great admiration for the U.K.'s part in sticking with us through thick and thin in Iraq. Bravo Tony Blair. So, my apologies for not clarifying better what I wanted to say, so I'm doing it now in this post. Cheerio old chap.
Wow, the dopey thread on the dopey prince spawned an opus!?
Thanks - though even the 'constant rainy weather' bit is completely wrong too! Many parts of the UK have higher sunshine totals than many parts of the US!
