let me only see the channels I want and get rid of the stuff like Home Shopping I could care less about. But they say they can't do that.
What they really mean is, they won't do that.
The choices, implied in ala carte, would mean the end of a couple of hundred bullshit channels.

I'll stand to be corrected but I thought I read somewhere the cable company got a cut of the home shopping channels, either via an affiliate deal or for carrying them.
If true stuff they can "charge for" and get paid for as well. The ultimate in cheap content.
Can anyone verify if they (the cable companies) have a financial interest in the shopping channels?
