If Muslims want something that can be interepreted to promote civilized behavior instead of the barbarism, they're not going to find it in the Koran. Basically, these are people who really really want Islam to be compatible with modern civilization, and are willing to rewrite the whole thing if that's what it takes to get it. Personally I think they'd do fine with the Old Testament.

And, as a fellow FReeper advised me, a 'moderate" Muslim is just one who has temporarily run out of ammunition.
