In a way this little one is almost my grandchild as well. Her mother's mother did not approve of her marriage (for what I don't know) and browbeat the rest of the family into more or less shunning her. She, the baby's grandmother, even browbeat her ex husband, the baby's grandfather now, into not attending her mother's wedding. The baby's other grandparents, while very accepting and loving, are New Zealanders and so are not around to give grandparently support. If I had known that there was no one to give away the bride at the (now) mother's wedding, I would have done it myself. When I heard about it, I was mad enough to spit and cuss, which is not my normal MO.
So here's the little girl who needs your prayers.
And here is her friend Miss V, who hath a colth, (now, not when the photo was taken)
Sorry about the drool.
Today was a good day, Keira was allowed to leave the PICU and move into the regular pediatric ward. We moved her from PICU at 11am this morning and spent the day testing how she could handle no medication except the breathing treatments and Tylnol.
Miss V is adorable. :) Hope her cold is better.
Including her precious little friend in my prayers.
How sad that the baby's grandmother decided to deny herself, and her family, the joy of the love from a precious baby with their own blood flowing through her veins. How doubly sad that the family allowed her to "browbeat" them into denying themselves as well. That is shameful.
God bless you for being "grandparent" to this little girl. I know both of you, and others, are blessed because of it already.
