A Few Prayers for Texas Cowboy!!
The Horse's Mouth | 08-Apr-05 | Tom Eaker

Prayers for TexasCowboy!

TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.

Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.

So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.

Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!

Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.

Thanks, Texasgirl...it is a relief to know what is going on, and thus how best to write a note here for him.

In what grade is your son now? Last time I *looked,* he was just 11- now 14 or 15?!

My older son called last night to update me on his relocation and new position, with a Hematology/Oncology Clinics (4) Group on the Treasure Coast of Florida.

He is absolutely loving it and the cancer patients they treat, most between 50 and 70...the head physician is just the kind of person Steve is - ever so caring and patient with each one.
The practice has its own laboratory for speedy processing - and a RESEARCH LAB!!

While the head physician takes 2 weeks of vacation after tomorrow, while he's gone is putting Steve into the labs to use his excellent computer skills - his experience years ago as Assistant to the Director of Healthcare Ministries in Lakeland, controlling all the medical inventory needed for the teams in their South and Central medical missions, Steve going on 4 of them, using his mastery of Spanish to interpret for the group in Uruguay and El Salvador and Guatamala - to see where they can better control the costs - research a new computer system for those areas, etc.

All of my children have great senses of humor and are easygoing and fun...at one point in our talking last night his cell phone died...I waited for him to call back, and when it rang and I said "Hello," he piped up quite plaintively,
"I lost my Mommy!!"

This is my volunteering fellow who joined the South Florida DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team) team BEFORE 9/11 - and in Hurricane Charley one year ago, was one of 4 who manned the Emergency Department in Punta Gorda (real one at Charlotte Memorial blown in and destroyed), with 12-hour shifts in their two tents (well equipped and lab techs and nurses) every day for 11 days...

It is so gratifying to be at this end of life, Tgirl, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

He eventually will be involved in research for cancer in their lab - - what if God enabled him to make a breakthrough, TexasCowboy?
A prophecy was made for him in 1985 by Bishop Bill Haman that he would be given special knowledge beyond that of his peers...

I am so blessed that all 3 of my children walk with the Lord, and desire to be used by Him.

Prayers continue, Big Guy. And I know Faith loves being close to her daddy. I felt the same way with my dad when he was ill. It was one of the most rewarding times we ever shared together and there's no love like a Dad's love!

Keep working hard and know that we're all pulling for you.

Loving prayers for more healing and for peace.

We love you too, El Roy.

That can't be TC's place

...

There are absolutely no guns in the picture.

You sure it's even in Texas?

(I see from the link that it is, but they don't seem to be the sort of folks TC would be hanging out with.)

Since things are a bit slow while we anxiously wait word on the next phase of TC's journey back to good health and back to Texas!, I thought I'd post another Miss V picture, taken not more than a couple of days ago, for TC's ladies.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

My wife called this one "Tummy Time is Fun!". She, my wife that is, also took some pictures a couple of weeks ago, and the change in Miss V, especially her size!, is amazing. We'll be heading down to Austin later today to see Miss V and to celebrate her Aunt B's birthday, which was last Wednesday.

You *know* I'm a sucker for photographs of FR's Finest Chilluns..:))

'Pears to me, though, her expression relates
"But, Grampa - you're supposed to be picking me up and holding me!"

Might be this is 'In Progress':

"We'll be heading down to Austin later today to see Miss V and to celebrate her Aunt B's birthday, which was last Wednesday."

Can't remember exactly how old is Miss Victoria - couple of months is all...perhaps 3 or 4 now?

I'm about to sally forth to procure vittles for the weekend, but will be back this evening....hope all is well with you and yours, sleuth.

We do appreciate that. She's getting huge too.

As it happens we're at her house now. We went out to eat, at a Czech place, she was her usual well behaved self. She did get a little cranky for a bit, but no sceaming. Then Grandpa and Grandma gave her a bottle (tag team with a burp in between) and she zonked right out. Woke up when we put her in the car though, and hasn't yet fallen back asleep. She's eating again as I type, and will probably go back to sleep.

We think so, even old Grandpa. She's about a week over 3 months old. She was born May 12th. (I hope :-0} )

My goodness she is very strong for only a little over 3 months...my granddaughter wasn't holding her head up that good until she was about 5 months...

Does this mean she is gonna be strong-willed? I think so!! LOL

It is sort of amazing, come to think of it. She looks like both her Dad and her Mom when they were little.

Right now she IS screaming. Trying to eat, but also probably trying to have a BM. She's madder'n a wet hen. I interrupted my FReeping between this my last post to take her Grandma another bottle, as Miss V finished off the one from the restaurant.

Giant Burp, heard it from way in the other room. :) Turns out she just wet her diaper again, even though her Aunt B just changed it a few minutes ago. She HATES

... (Baby interruption!)

to have a wet diaper.

As you can surmise Grandma and Grandpa have the watch while Mom and Dad go to the store. Miss V is into her cranky period. I had to change the bag in the diaper pail, and then take the little screamer outside. She did burp a couple of times while we were out there, and calmed down some, but now she's in full scream again. I imagine she'll finally wear herself out enough and go to sleep for a long nap. It would help, probably, if she'd have a BM :)

She did sleep 10 1/2 straight hours last night. Her mother was 18 months old before she slept as much as 7 1/2. TANJ!

Someday, say in a couple of decades, more or less, Logan and Miss V will have to be properly introduced.

I know what a charmer he is, so I want her old enough to "defend" herself. Of course she may be quite a charmer/vamp herself, when the time comes. She's certainly strong willed and knows what she wants...... she just can't tell anybody what it is... yet. But when she can, I suspect we are in for an earful.

Too late for that. I can't recall their screen names, but I know we've got a couple of couple, at least, already. Still TT and Miss V might take the record for the couple that were the youngest when they made their FR debut. Heck, TT was negative months old.
