Prayers for TexasCowboy!
TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.
Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.
So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.
Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!
Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.
LOL, I think you have time for the shower by the looks of things. I love watching these things for some reason. Must have an adventurous streak in me. I loved the "Lethal Weapon" movies too.
Well....I'm hoping this bozo rams right into that stupid sculpture thing in Baldwin Park.
Now THAT would be cool.
They do indeed, TC...
Texas Songwriter, your post to TC was wonderfully descriptive!
At 9 1/2 my family moved from the city of Coral Gables, Florida up to a thousand acres 12 miles from Melbourne, to be centrally located for my father's consulting engineering practice.
Made the transition well, and loved the critters my parents gathered for our enjoyment -- Bessie the cow, Muscovy ducks, two turkeys named Phyllis and Forrest (after two of their best friends); and for two years boarded 8 horses for neighbors who wanted to travel.
Since I'd hung around the horse stable that then was in the center of Coral Gables and loved them, and the summer I was 9 went to a girl's camp in the mountains of SC and learned Eastern style riding, it was a joy to ease into the more comfortable Western saddles and ride when I wanted.
Fast forward to 11, and friends who needed a home for their aging quarter horse -- gave him to me, and he was already named Grasshopper - no doubt as agile as one in his heyday...
At the time, there were so few families out where we were, the mailboxes were clustered 3 miles east of us. In the summers, I used to ride Grasshopper there and back (easy on the hooves sand road) to get the mail and the newspaper...
Four years ago, comparing notes on our childhoods, TC revealed at age 10 he had a horse in Texas named Grasshopper!
Factoid #279, Folks:
Rather underpaid, 'e was, though,

Hey! I'm not in there...
Lucky you... You are better lookin tho. : )
Bet your booties he will, Abuela de Brad. And someday, sooner than we'd like, he won't be so little.
And the sound of a barn or stable full of horses munching on a treat of corn is music to the ears.
And I came to hear that music in a cold barn in Nebraska one January day with the temperature outside near zero and horses' breath showing even inside what was a pretty tight barn, with the alfalfa hay in the loft above serving as insulation. Hay I had helped put up there.
Although I've been a Texan longer than I was a Nebraskan, I must say the Texas is not the only place Where the Old West was. Even us Cornhuskers, outside of Omaha anyway, appreciate the smell of horses and leather tack. (our horses were for driving not for riding, mostly anyway) I like horses, but they can be stubborn and contrary beasts... Sort of like some people we know and love.
Since I'm TDY, and the meeting/happy hour lasted until 9Pm local, I'm kinda late tonight. But I hope you had a good day, and will have a better one tommorrow.
Just keep thinking about those horses, and of course all the FRiends who are thinking about you and praying for your fast recovery.
Oh my gosh. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HUBBA HUBBA!!!!!!
I have been in many discussions debates cuss fight arguments with horse owners who think, "The Horse Whisperer", is a true story, and horses are God's gift to mankind second only to salvation.
I don't go there anymore.
Today and tomorrow are my completely off days. All the tests and scans are run.
Friday they'll immobilize the tumor with an angiogram precedure, and block off it's blood supply so it will begin to die.
The surgery day to remove the tumor and broken femur has been set tentatively for Monday the 13th.
Thank you, dear friends, for your support and prayer.
I'm going into this thing with God's peace surrounding me.
I have no fear. God's shield is protecting me.
God bless you all.
What? No beautiful nurses coming into to poke and prod? You've got to think of something Cowboy - we all know how much you love those pretty nurses...............
Well - at least God can crowd a million of His angels into each square inch to watch over you and the surgeons, so it doesn't matter..:))

Up to minute report from Texas Cowboy
God Bless You Brother!
Thanks for the update TC!
My prayers are always with you!
Love ya TC.
You could call today's generation "crooked and perverse," just as Paul described his own generation in Philippians 2:15. Even Moses would have understood what Paul was talking about, for he said of Israel, "They have corrupted themselves; they are not His children, because of their blemish: a perverse and crooked generation" (Deuteronomy 32:5). Crookedness refers to the means by which people accomplish their objectivesdoing whatever it takes to get what they want. Shortcuts to success are applauded. Some even boast about how they circumvent the law. Perversion refers to the way people distort the truth. For example, I heard about three teenagers who wanted to end their stay in a youth hostel long before their expected departure. They angrily insisted that the manager return their nonrefundable deposit. When he finally gave in and the three teens were on their way out, they exclaimed to the hostel's other guests that they had been forced to leave. We may sometimes get hurt by the crooked behavior and distorted thinking of people. But we are called to be "blameless and harmless" and to "shine as lights in the world" (Philippians 2:15). Let's show the world a different way of living. Albert Lee
The light of the world to be, To lift up the lamp of the Savior That others His light may see. Anon. The straight and narrow way is God's way for a crooked generation.

Holding you up before the Throne of Grace.
Continued prayers for you TC. You have a lot of support throughout the US and probably beyond.
Kick it! (I know you will...)
Today we were invaded by a few hundred wannabe nurses who are on an accelerated program to prepare them for a nursing career.
These are graduates from various universities with degrees in everything from business to history who have decided to go into nursing instead.
Now, these gals are as pretty as speckled pups, but I'd need to add about thirty years to their age before I could be attracted.
This getting older and acquiring wisdom and knowledge ain't all it's cracked up to be.
I think I'd rather be young and dumb.
