A Few Prayers for Texas Cowboy!!
The Horse's Mouth | 08-Apr-05 | Tom Eaker

Prayers for TexasCowboy!

TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.

Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.

So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.

Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!

Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.

I did manage to put a couple of hundred rounds of .45 ACP downrange yesterday . . . I was up in North Texas doing wedding prep for younger daughter's wedding.

Hmmm. . . does the groom know about this form of wedding prep?

Never thought of it like that, but he does. :) Ate supper with him afterwords and talked about it.

I've gone shooting with him in Austin, along with the other daughter's husband. It was a first for the son-in-law, but the son-in-law-to-be has his own guns. Just a Rem 870, Ruger 10/22 and some kind of bolt action .22 rifle. He's a native born Texican after all. The other one is from New Jersey, and still "feels" the evil aura surrounding the gun, but we're breaking him of it. His head doesn't feel it, but his gut still does. Doesn't stop him from learning to shoot though. Maybe we'll all go shooting again on Sunday or Monday in Austin, while Abuela, Tia, y Mama watch Miss V. (They all have shot on occasion too, but except for Tia, aren't all that enthusiastic about it)

SIL's father about dropped his teeth when I opened my trunk to move the .45 from there to the passenger compartment, once we were back in Texas after the wedding two years ago. (Could have done it Oklahoma, as Texas CHL is good there too). We were in the parking lot of the Texas Ranger Museum and Barracks in Waco as a matter of fact. I hadn't bothered to mention that the .45 was back there, along with a a couple of magazines loaded with 200 gr JHPs.

Sending healing Prayers your way Sweetpea . . . I received this joke in an e-mail and I thought you would appreciate it . . . ;-)

Little Fly Humour:

A cowboy in Texas got pulled over by a State Trooper for speeding. The trooper started to lecture the cowboy about his speeding, and in general began to throw his weight around to try to make the cowboy feel uncomfortable. Finally, the trooper got around to writing out the ticket. As he was doing that, he kept swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head.

The cowboy said, "Having some problem with Circle flies there, are ya?"

The trooper stopped writing the ticket and said, "Well yeah, if that's what they are. I never heard of Circle flies."

So the cowboy says, "Well, Circle flies are common on ranches. See, they're called Circle flies because they're almost always found circling around the back end of a horse."

The trooper says, "Oh," and goes back to writing the ticket. Then after a minute, he stops and says, "Are you trying to call me a horse's ass?"

The cowboy says, "Oh no, officer. I have too much respect for law enforcement and police officers to even think about calling you a horse's ass."

The trooper says, "Well that's a good thing," and goes back to writing the ticket.

After a long pause, the cowboy says, "Hard to fool them flies though."

Don't let the Horse Patooties drag your buns down Sweetpea!!!

Yup. You've heard the expression "lower'n a snake's belly", well when the snakes get a load of that Logan Fu, they'll make themselves much lower than that.
