I believe your summation is very correct as to the blunders and abuse of power by reno&freebe. I wish the FBIs' would pursue the muslims terrorists as zealously as they did in Jewel's&Rudloph's case. My point is I would love to see this much outrage against abortion providers and others who make their living killing unborn children. I'm not defending Rudolph. He apparently wasn't even very good with explosives. And the fact that he took the plea and told investigators where to find other explosives means he must be guilty. So he rots in prison. Fine. But the abortion people go right on killing with no remorse.
Apples and oranges. There IS agony and outrage about the millions of abortions that take place every year, but to link that righteous outrage with this POS does our side no favor.
Rudolph is scum. I don't give two figs what his motives were, and if you want to vent outrage about abortion, there are certainly more appropriate threads in which to do so. IMHO.

It is very difficult to prevail against the government in this type of claim. I do recall that Jewell sued and, I believe, reached a settlement with Tom Brokaw and NBC.
What the Government did to this guy was shamefull. Jewell was a hero who, after finding the bomb, assisted in clearing the area of civilians. He probably saved several lives. The FBI then publicized hunting pictures of Jewell and suggested that he must be a nut because he wore camouflage and owned guns. They also characterized him as a loser, wanna-be cop. The late-night comedians feasted on him for days. He was eventually cleared and got a measure of pay-back from the media - but it bothers me that he still doesn't get credit for what he did that day.
