And no, I haven't been through flight training. Have you had a hysterectomy? That question seems about as relevant as yours.

'Yes' what? I asked several questions.
Please tell me how the Department of Homeland Security has anything to do with the case of Zayead Hajaig. What exactly did DHS do that you feel was commendable?

If you had been through flight training, you would have some insight into how the whole thing works. It certainly is relevant, as we are discussing the operation of flight schools.
If we were discussing gynecological procedures, then asking about hysterectomies would be in order. We aren't.
To: Coop
I've read the thread, but thanks for the invitation. You don't seem to be very willing to answer questions.

No, but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Excuse me, but any private pilot will be happy to tell you that there is no terrorist threat posed from the smaller GA airstrips.

Sure Iconoclast, I am not very adapt at linking in FR but after reading the newz, bright and early this morn, posted an ever alert Freeper and making that scurrilous comment re: the Vaulted Homeland Security, I took a minute and googled the perps name. BINGO, 30 sec. later I read a 4/6/05 Alert posted at www.fly-low.com, Aviation News, here is that:
Atlanta Joint Terrorism Task Force,Special Alert Bulletin
Zayead Christopher Hajaig, a white male, DOB: 10/19/69, SSAN: 252-83- 9765, British National born in Nigeria, an FAA licensed pilot (Certificate No. 252839765), was taking flight lessons at a Gwinnett County, Georgia flight school. He was reported to authorities after he allegedly attempted to have his instructor upgrade his rating while not yet qualified. He also became aggressive, and attempted to have the flight school accelerate his training schedule.
The Atlanta JTTF and ICE determined Hajaig to be in the United States illegally. He had no known means of income, utilized calling cards to communicate with associates, and possibly fled the country when he was alerted to the JTTF's interest in him. Hajaig is believed to be located in the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom authorities have been alerted, and he has been placed on the no fly list.
Hajaig should NOT be allowed to rent aircraft, fly from, or take lessons at any airport in the United States. The FAA has been alerted.
Aliases
Zayead Christopher Haijag; Christopher Haijag; David Haijag; Alex Haiaig
Any contact made with Zayead Christopher Hajaig should be immediately reported to the Atlanta JTTF at 404-679-9000 POCs, SA Stuart Franco or SA Jodene Weber.

Yeah, I consider the AJC as the enemies' BoP, Bureau of Propaganda and just had to stick 'em in the eye when given an opportunity, eh, eh, so to speak.

Ya gotta just love the MSM for describing this guy as "a British Citizen!"
Every time they run something about people arrested, suspected, etc. as being "citizens" of France, Germany, Great Britain, I used to expect to read "Cleauseu, Steinhauser or Whitley-Jones" instead of hearing Allahbi, Farouk, and Zhguahghi. I suppose that the MSM believe that they can describe the perps as Europeans, the idiots out there, will not finish the article to find that the perps really were "Egyptian born, Syrian born, Tunnisian born", ad nauseum.

Geez IOP, I feel like I put you to a lot of work .... but what I was specifically puzzled by was the
2.5 years part of your post.
Did it take HS that long to get up to speed?
Was the illegal in the country 2.5 years?

iconolast, like your tagline...don't know how long it took DHS to react but from the AJC article, I did read this:
Zayead Christopher Hajaig, became "aggressive" and also tried to have the flight school speed up his training schedule, which began in 2002 and continued off and on for MORE THAN two and a half years.

Do you realize that there are nuclear power plants within a hour's flight from Gwinnett? If it's a good day, a small plane could reach one in just about half an hour.
