And besides, what alternative do you have for the next 4 years or when the next election comes? The danger won't be from conservatives voting for Dems, it will be from them either voting third party or staying home. We all saw the importance of high vote turnout last November. If Republican candidates enrage part of their base and lose future elections, they will have only themselves to blame.

some conservatives, hopefully not enough, but some will in fact stay home in 2006. i fear this issue could well hand the hor back to the dems.
i am in massholeachusetts, since i have gained the franchise i have voted for about five repubs, all that ever ran here... in every election my vote matters not in this state, but i do so out of principal. w's stand on this issue makes me wonder why i should even bother.
in my last letter to our potus and rove i expressed exactly the same sentiment. if we loose the house in 06, hillary is going to run this issue up our collective butts... and we will still be up to our ass in illegals... but she will in any event say what ever needs to be said to attain power.
this is a wedge issue, and it will cost the party dearly.

I get SO tired of FReepers telling me I HAVE to vote Republican in the next election or it will be MY fault a Dem wins the Presidency.
HA!
It's the PUBS fault for not giving us a candidate who has the cajones to UPHOLD THE LAW instead of pandering to the One World / affirmative action / support the poor pitiful 'migrants' crowd!

The danger won't be from conservatives voting for Dems, it will be from them either voting third party or staying home. Hillary will never get more than 43% of the vote (heck, thats what Bill got in 1992). Hence, the RATs will find another Perot as a 3rd party candidate. The only problem the next go-round, is that the wacky far left of the democratic party might also splinter off if Hillary tries to move to the center.

Throwing away your vote on 3rd party will assure the Beastess a free ride back to the WH. Sorry but that is just the way it is and don't think the demos aren't counting on 3rd party supporters to try spliting the GOP.
Blame the employers (large & small) who are hiring illegals. How many of the Mexicans would come if there were no jobs for them to send UNTAXED $$$ back to the hellhole called Mexico?

If Republican candidates enrage part of their base and lose future elections, they will have only themselves to blame. That will be thin consolation as we all suffer from the electoral consequences of those stay-at-home "conservatives"--"Not my fault we got a socialist for president, I didn't vote because the Republican sucked on immigration."
Right.
