And besides, what alternative do you have for the next 4 years or when the next election comes?

From all the negative threads about Pres. Bush on here lately, I'd say that when the next election comes you may have Hillary or someone of her ilk as your "Commander in Chief".

It is bordering on the ridiculous that the Border Patrol is crediting the Mexican Army for reduced border crossings on the Arizona Border.

They really do think we are stupid.

Yes, they won't be happy until they have someone to really complain about.

Defeating terrorism and getting our economy back on shape after being jolted by 9/11 and cutting taxes while doing it, while holding on to control of both houses of Congress is still not enough.

I agree with all the negative statements about Bush. He has performed OK as a war President but has otherwise been awful and not just on illegal immigration. Think, 40% expansion of the Dept of Education, $100 billion farm subsidy, red ink as far as the eye can see, and Medicare Prescription Drugs which are the largest expansion of socialism since Lyndon Johnson's Great Society.

Rather than Hillary I think we should elect Tom Tancredo. He is not only good on illegal immigration but he is actually a real conservative.

If that happens it might be because President Bush did not guard our borders - not even during a time of

We can't take two steps forward and three steps back. I will be voting Republican in the next election.

The President deserves praise for cutting taxes and trying to take on Social Security. But on the border issue and immigration, the buck stops at his desk.

We are at war, and the President sends border agents to Iraq, to help them learn how to secure their borders? Good grief. The President is a good man, but on this issue, he deserves to be criticized.

Going on his 5th year as President, and he still doesn't have an identifiable immigration policy. That is completely irresponsible in a time of war.

"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole.

Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile.

To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.

Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."
"Roosevelt in the Kansas City Star", 149 May 7, 1918
