What about asbestos?
I think Jennings knows enough about his condition and probably has been told by the medics the honest truth.
Perhaps what the press is letting out is for public consumption only and not what the Jennings family may know.
He looks terrible and the disease has already robbed him of his energy from the ravages being seen.
I think in Jennings' case we can directly link cigarettes to his disease as he was a lifelong smoker.
Smoking, smoking, smoking, smoking and smoking.
What about asbestos?"
What about it? Do have some information that Jennings lived in an asbestos-filled house or do believe that smoking cigarettes doesn't cause lung cancer?
Jennings smoked asbestos? Wow, I didn't even know it would burn, he must be really tough.
Asbestos is best shown related to lung cancer when the ambulance-chasers get involved.
Yes, John. And Black Lung the coal miners get. And radon.
People get lung cancer and all the non-smokers can blame it on is smoking. First question "DID THEY SMOKE? DID THEY SMOKE?"
Well, several things cause lung cancer. Not just smoking.
From Mesothelioma Information and Resource Group:
A great deal of attention has been paid to the relationship between smoking and lung cancer. Indeed, many people automatically assume that relationship. It is therefore important to understand that while smoking is certainly a potential cause of lung cancer, it is not the sole cause of lung cancer in humans. Statistics have shown that cigarette smoking alone increases the risk of lung cancer by a factor of 10 or so; heavy asbestos exposure alone increases the risk of lung cancer by a factor of 5 or so; and the combination of the two independent carcinogens increases the risk factor by about 50 times.
Thus, you do not merely add the risks posed by asbestos to the risks posed by cigarette smoking. The combination of asbestos and smoking multiplies the risk by an unquantifiable, but significantly greater, factor. This relationship is what is referred to as the "synergistic effect" of smoking and asbestos exposure. In short, one plus one does not equal two-it equals five or more.
Radon gas is #2. Right behind smoking.. You can't smell, see, taste it. Most who live in a house with over 50pci for over 10 years develope cancer. Get your house tested...... Google.... RADON
An interesting statistic. smoking increases one's chances of getting lung cancer 8X. Long term exposure to asbestos, in a friable form, increases it by 5X. Smokers who have been exposed to asbestos have an 88X increase in the chances of getting lung cancer/asbestosis.
It is estimated that about 87% of lung cancers are smoking related.
If you are a non-smoking asbestos worker, you are about 7 times more likely to die of lung cancer than the general population. If you are an asbestos worker who smokes, your lung cancer risk is 50 to 90 times greater than that of the general population.
They meant "smoking asbestos."
