FreeRepublic Pledges (Vanity)
TheHound

Posted on 04/06/2005 6:50:29 PM PDT by TheHound

Why do these pledge periods have to take so long? For a measly $66,000, I would think the pledge period would only last about a week. If everyone who used this cite for longer, in a year, than they do reading a magazine subsciption, pledged the price of a magazine subscription, I believe the pledge amount would be met in about two days. I certainly hope the day never comes when I have to see "Cialis" ads blinking on the right side of the FR page so they can pay for bandwidth!

Good point, don-o. There is something for everybody here on FR, which is great. And as Raffus said:

"Life is good."

And JimRob can use my donation for junk food, ciggies, Pabst Blue Ribbon, disco bowling, gambling, and shoe shines.

What Would You Do Without Free Republic?

"What would you do Without FR?????

How would You Feel without FR??? Suppose one day you tried to log on and Free Republic wasn’t there? Where would you get your up to the minute news? How about the live threads as things are happening?

How would you know about the latest Demorat scams, anti-second amendment schemes and all the other liberal, anti-American ploys that are tried every single day?

Insight into world affairs, brilliant wit, sharp retorts, instant information gratification are a few of the things that make FR so vital.

How would you keep on top of things without FR?

How would you know who to contact to complain about the lying politicians, Media Bias, Hollyweirds latest mouth off, sponsors of these idiots, company policies that are unfair and all the other things we need to know to counteract the liberal mindset and the evil plans of liberals?

How would you be part of a Freep?

What would you do without FR????

Freedom isn’t free.

If you enjoy the site and find it a place of like minded Americans to sound off, to get together, to fight back, to have your voice heard and make a difference, PLEASE CONTRIBUTE NOW! Jim can’t do this alone.

The liberals are sure we won’t be able to keep FR up & running. Prove them wrong. Show them we are indeed united Freepers.

Whether it is $5.00, $50.00 or more, it all adds up. Please send a donation now to Free Republic."

People getting surprisingly worked up about this, aren't they? You'd think I just walked into someone's living room and kicked their dog or something ;)

If there is a breaking news story, anywhere on the planet, you'll see it here first. We have FReepers on the ground with first hand reports scooping all of the majors.

I disagree with many of the supposed "acceptable" attitudes which are proclaimed by some to be driving this site. If you're civil, you can state your opinion. If the majority opinion is contrary to your own, that's how it shakes out. So what? The fact that I'm still here is testimony to that. Feel the love :o)

Well, that's excellent. It certainly looks, at first glance, that explanations of this sort of thing have been readily available in the past. So it shouldn't be a problem to find out what's going on this time, right?

This time?

Tell me .. what really do you want ?

Besides to stir up an argument, that is

You asked for the threads and accused us of hiding something when we suggested that you go look for them

Now that Ed searched the the threads for you .. it's still not good enough for you

I've seen this game played before

No kidding. If they want to get into a big donation pi**ing contest they can always head over to DU. They've got them gay little stars that show exactly what everyone has ponied up.

You asked for the threads...

I asked for the answer, and I got a giant pile of posts in response. No, thanks. I'm not wading through 15,000 posts to find it, not when nobody can even give me a general idea of what the answer is, and especially when a couple of the folks who've taken it upon themselves to interrogate me have already said that THEY don't know what the answer is.

Really, it's okay if you don't know. I don't know, lots of people don't know - why should you be any different? But let's be honest - you don't know, or you'd have given a better answer than "look it up" or "it's already been answered" or whatever it is you folks are gradually settling on for the party line. I don't quite understand the defensiveness on display here - I've not accused anyone of anything improper, especially the folks who've seen fit to criticize me for even asking. I'm just asking a simple question, and you'd save people a lot of time if you just said you don't know, rather than forcing them to read 150+ posts of tap-dancing in order to figure that out for themselves.

I've seen this game played before

I doubt it. If you had, you'd realize it's not a game.

Well, fortunately I've had a few good folks such as yourself who have taken it upon themselves to vouch for me as a member, which makes it a little bit harder to just mark me down as a troll/disruptor/troublemaker/whatever ;)
