I like DeLay's response better. However, I'm not holding my breath.

If I were Frist, I'd be saying this, while knowing that the next pay raise the federal judiciary gets will be in the distant future, and the next promotions of the judges involved would be over my dead body.

Bill Frist told reporters on Tuesday that he's not interested in having the Senate go after judges who violated a federal law Congress.

Judges are above the law, who do they think they are - God?

".....but he said the courts were "fair and independent."

Bulloney! They circled the wagons and had an incest-fest.

So much for Dr. Frist.....goes along to get along whore.

A very nice precedent has been set for future recipients of a Congressional Subpeona. If you gwt one, ignore it. Afterall, if a a judge can ignore one, why shouldn't anyone else

"I believe we have a fair and independent judiciary today," he said, according to a Reuters report.

If he really thinks that, he is delusional. He is half-right, of course...the judiciary IS independent. But fair? Gimme a break.

Someone needs to remind the Congress that the branches are supposed to Seperate but also EQUAL.

WHERE are the checks on the the power of the judiciary??? Where??????

You bet they are independent. With a nutless Legislature and an impotent Executive they are free to act as they wish and have told you so.

I wonder if some enterprising FReeper can find out what drug he's been taking. I'm guessing 'shrooms or peyote. Geesh, what a ridiculous statement.

The GOP controlled Congress is not going to do anything because they are fine with what happened in FL. With few exceptions the rest just wanted a little political cover.

Any ideas Frist had about being President should have rightfully dried up. He's as ball-less as Trent Lott was. He's backpedaled on the so-called "nuclear option" and now this. The only thing Frist hasn't done is afix his lips to Harry Reid's ass but I'm sure that's somewhere on the agenda.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Senate Majority Leader Bill
Frist told reporters on Tuesday that he's not interested in having
the Senate go after judges who violated a federal law Congress
passed mandating that Terri Schiavo's starvation death be stopped
and allowing her parents to take their lawsuit to federal courts.

"I believe we have a fair and independent judiciary today," he said.

I think it's a ploy - because Frist is focused on getting Bush's nominees through the Senate .. THEN he can turn his focus on the other judges.

Please understand how politics works - it's not black and white and expecting it to be that is unrealistic. If people would just spend a little time finding out what the realities are it would be a whole lot less stressful.

I believe Frist has backed off and allowed DeLay to lead the charge because DeLay has a stronger base in the House and it's actually the House that has to do the investigation and bring charges. Frist does not have to be involved yet .. and Senator George Allen has stated that if the constitutional option is going to be used - it will be better to use it now instead of waiting until we have two USSC seats to fill.

If Frist had 55 locked and loaded repubs - there would be no problem - but he doesn't. There are those pesky RINO's to be concerned about.

ALSO - REMEMBER - TOMORROW FR PEOPLE are going to be Marching on Congress - lobbying for judicial nominees and better border protection.

And .. later in this month - Roger Hedgecock will be showing up with his 1000 or so people from all over the USA to also lobby the Congress. The Congress is going to be hit hard this month and I'm hoping it will wake a lot of people up.

BE SURE YOU ASK YOUR CONGRESS PERSON - WHY ARE YOU LISTENING TO THE DEMOCRATS ..?? THEY DIDN'T ELECT YOU - WE DID.

It's time conservatives realize who the true enemy -- liberal and lukewarm Republicans. Such Republicans must be purged from the GOP.

If Frist wants to have any hope of a successful Presidential run, then he will get busy finding ways to the Bush judicial nominees into the courts by any means necessary and will start pushing for legislation that prevents the euthanization of the disabled. If not, any primary run in 2008 will be DOA.

In the first place, Frist in saying this has badly damaged the institution he professes to lead, the Senate. Who will pay attention to a congressional subpoena in the future, when it can be successfully scoffed at like this?

In the second place, he has killed his chances to run for the presidency. I have had mixed feelings about him, but this tears it, as far as I am concerned. We don't need a man like this in the White House.

Who is he reassuring? What audience is he speaking to? The leftists aren't going to support him no matter what he says, but pro-life conservatives will be deeply offended by this kind of gratuitous insult. He didn't have to say anything if he wanted to be a coward, but saying this is like poking a finger in the eye of the voters who just gave the Republicans five more members in the Senate.

Sure, you can say one thing and do another. But what possible reason did he have to say this, other than to appease his natural enemies in the press?

Frist is my Senator.

I will not support him for President.

As of today, I like George Allen or a governor.

You know the Republican Senators insult us all by treating the republican base like a bunch of drunken yokels running amuck, easily ignored and brushed off except at election time.

So they demand subpoenaed baseball players to show up to congressional hearings and boy, oh boy, if they don't there will be senatorial wrath and hell to pay.

But, good old boy judges, oh, well, they don't have to at all.

Senator Frist, please do some surgery, and get a replacement for your cowardly heart. We need you to be a hammer like Tom Delay. He's the man, er, I mean MAN!!
