Wedding brawl ends in arrest
By Maria J. Flora maria@jrpress.com
A wedding day brawl ended in the groom being hauled to jail still kicking, police said. Police were twice called to the Ramada Limited where the arguing couple was spending their wedding night last week, according to court records.
Angela Tripp was still in her wedding dress when police arrived, Crawfordsville Police Lt. Harvey Barton said in a probable cause affidavit. Her husband Travis R. Lee, 30, was wearing jeans and offered their ripped-in-half marriage license as identification, Barton said.
Angelas neck was red and she told police Travis hit and choked her after, but she would not sign a statement, according to court records.
The couple visited a friends house after their wedding, but Travis left the house, Barton said. Angela went drinking at two downtown bars and later found Travis at the friends house, according to court records.
Barton said Lee punched him in the face then fought the six officers who tried to subdue him. Lee refused to walk and had to be carried to the squad car, where he continued to fight, according to court records. Police said they had to drag him from the car into the jail.
Barton reported that in all, Travis: hit and spit on Barton, kicked Crawfordsville Police Corporal Neil Barclays inner thigh, kicked Officer David Longs chest and fought Montgomery County Officers Grant Snyder and Chad Kendricks.
Travis is charged in Montgomery County Superior Court with: battery on a law enforcement officer, battery by bodily waste, resisting law enforcement and two counts of resisting law enforcement, causing injury.
After pulling that stunt, it is amazing that he ended up in jail rather than the hospital. The cop should have used reasonable force on him at that point.
But I do have a never seen before picture of Bridezilla.
Her family used to live 2 blocks from me and she had a big crush on one of my older boys friends. She used to "show up" when the boys were hanging out at someone's house, even though the kids were never, what I would say, kind to her. After the whole Bridezilla story broke, son #2 gave me this picture that he had of her.
Knowing a bit more about her family then ever got out in the news, I do feel a bit sorry for her. And extremely relieved that my boys had the good sense NOT to get involved with her.
Now there is a prime example of a fine upstanding young man. NOT!
Go figure.
My wedding night involved a prostitute. Top that.
In that picture is she actually tongue-kissing another girl?
Five bucks on Under
Yes, but it really looked like they were just doing it for the camera. I don't believe either of the girls was too highly thought of by my sons or their friends. Picture just proves is - I removed the derogatrory comments written on the picture by one of the kids.
You go bar hopping on your wedding night.
A popular position - I may have to move the line ;)
I'm a JP in Connecticut and have done two wedding at the facility where Bridezilla went "apesh*t" as you put it. One just a few weeks before she went off. She made the local news here about a year later as she and her husband both got charged in a mutual assault, IIRC
Don't forget about the wedding in a trailer that happened in Florida a few years ago. The bride spent the night in jail after brawling with one of the bridemaids. I think the name was Nailer or something like that.
