I am ashamed to say I voted for Perot in 92. I still regret that one.

Don't feel bad. I remember at that time driving in my car and listening to some guy giving a speech at the National Press Club. It was all about keeping the spending and the deficit down, and I thought it was very impressive. I then learned it was Perot. At least superficially, he had appeal. It took some time to realize he was a little crackpot tyrant with no real ideas, just slogans.

Remember, IS: "measure twice, cut once!"

Or "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Needless to say, by the 96 election, I was fully converted from the dark side and have been rabidly conservative ever since. We joke in my family that everyone is to the left of me!

For years I thought Amy Carter was an only child. It was quite a surprise to learn several years ago that Carter was the father of 3 grown sons.
