I happen to know that Carter WAS invited to attend, and refused, because the flight was returning from Rome to Texas, and Carter did not want to appear to be supporting Bush in any way.

Thanks for the ping GLGB.

I can just see Bush and Rove huddled together over in the "TeeHee" corner.

Quietly laughing together; Teehehe, Teehehe!

They said that about Condi? Really? They suggested a black woman give up her seat to a white southern male?

I hadn't thought of that. Great point! We can only imagine if the tables were turned and a white male Republican asked a black woman to give up her spot.

When Michael Medved was here in Amarillo, someone called in to ask him a question while he was on our local station. The woman asked if he thought Hillary would become president. He replied that he thought conservatives should be taking her more seriously, and if she did run, she would be a real challenge to Republicans. And if she won, what would her presidency be like? Since you appear to like Mr. Carter so much, you're gonna love this (sarcasm galore!): Medved said Hillary's presidency would probably be much more like Jimmy Carter's than her husband's had been! Yikes!!

They must be desperate if this is all they can come up with to bash Dubya and Catholics. Anybody with a brain in this country knows what Mr. Peanut is all about: blame Republicans and Israel for all the ills of the world.

Why in the world should we send America's leading apologist for Islamo-fascism to the funeral of one of the world's greatest defenders of freedom? I don't hear Katie and Andrea demanding to know why Gerry Ford or Nancy Reagan aren't going.

Maybe they would be placated if Dubya took Michael Schiavo or Patsy Ireland. /sarcasm

They were careful to mention that, at 91, Ford doesn't travel anymore.

MSM NBC scum! Also, Jimmy Carter has had nothing but contempt for our president since his election in 00', and his criticism of the successful liberation of Iraq has been way over the top. Let Jimmy and Roslynn sit in Plains, Ga. and shuck peanuts.

Andrea Mitchell, reporting the story, clearly wasn't buying the White House line that Carter politely asked himself to be removed from the invitation list when he learned that space was very limited.

Correct me if I am wrong .. but isn't Mrs. Carter going?

You forgot the first of his screwy deeds - amnesty to those who ran away to Canada during VietNam.

There's also strong evidence that it was Carter's amnesty that permitted Kerry to trade in his less-than-honorable discharge for an honorable one.

..... I remember gas lines, no Christmas lights, 18% interest on mortgage.....

Ah, the good memories. I made some serious money on bonds bought when the interest rate were at 18%. Watched the value of my investment skyrocket when Carter was dumped on the street and the rates returned to normal.

What a putz!

He's a free citizen, isn't he? He can go to the funeral without the President's invitataion if he wants to, can't he?

Yes

But since he sent his Mother and not a member of his administration to Pope John Paul I's funeral ..

I'm guessing there is more to it then Jimmy and the media is reporting
