There was a movie that started the line: "What kind of meat do priests eat on Fridays?" . I think it may have been a Cheech and Chong movie but it's been a long time.

Or "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Needless to say, by the 96 election, I was fully converted from the dark side and have been rabidly conservative ever since. We joke in my family that everyone is to the left of me!

Look for this to be topic #1 at the funeral on Friday.
Reporter: "And there is the American delegation, led by President George W. Bush..."
Reporterette: "And conspicuous in his absence, is former president Jimmy Carter, who is reported to have wanted to be in the delegation..."
Reporter: "That's right! The White House's line is that he declined, but I would have to imagine, wouldn't you, that he would want to be there..."
Reporterette: "Yes, allegedly former president Carter gave his seat up to Condoleeza Rice..."
And so on, and so on, and so on...

I just heard the tail end of a news reporting that Jon Corzine sent out a statement claiming to be upset that President Bush snubbed Jimmy Carter
What is that all about?

Limbaugh talking about this now.
To: mewzilla
Limbaugh: Where in the Third World has Jimmy Carter made a difference? The Pope yes, Carter no. But the Dems reward intentions, not results.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
For years I thought Amy Carter was an only child. It was quite a surprise to learn several years ago that Carter was the father of 3 grown sons.

If Carter had stayed quiet, I probably would have forgotten that he was the WORST president in my lifetime. He is why I became a Republican!Every time I hear about Carter and his latest insults to this country, I remember gas lines, no Christmas lights, 18% interest on mortgages, giving away the Panama Canal, no Olympics, the betrayal of the Shah, the Iranian hostage crisis, malaise, etc.etc. etc.
Dittos to that. And don't forget how Jimmah suggested wearing sweaters rather than turning up the heat, and discouraged Americans from using their credit cards. Once Ronald Reagan The Great became president, I finally switched my affiliation from Independent to Republican, and have never looked back.

Caller to Limbaugh makes a good point: Why was Newt called petty when Newt carped about his seating on AF1, while Carter's being treated as the wronged party?
Bias much?

Yeah, Rush is talking about this now!
Showing how when it was Newt who complained - he was called the whiner - but when Carter does it - it's Bush who's the bad guy .. typical! And it shows how petty, childish, juvenile (I know it's redundant - but so are they), self-absorbed people the dems/libs really are.

Hey GLGB, I think that President Bush SHOULD invite Bucky...to tend to the White House tennis court scheduling, while Dub's at the Papal funeral.
Heh heh.

Asked Katie "under the circumstances, wouldn't the right thing have been for Condi Rice to step aside and give Carter her place?"Do these idiots actually think that Jimmy Carter is more important than Condoleeza Rice?
Jimmy Carter was a lousy president and has managed to be a lousy ex-president.
