It's a law student society; the quote is unreferenced. Their web page hasn't ben updated in 2 years. This is your idea of a credible source?

Dear me.

No harm would've been done by sparing her life.<<<

That's the crux of it.

And the irony of it.

And the horror of it.

IMHO, the correct thing for the government to do would've been to spare her life and then allow the legislative branches at both the state and federal levels ample time to fix the law. No harm would've been done by sparing her life.

Well said. Thank you.

"Videos like this show the 0.01% of the time where TS's random autonomic responses coincide with what she is asked to do. These videos don't show the vast majority of times when her responses in no way jibe with what she is being asked to do."

So they killed her.

Oh yes, she was asked to open her eyes and she responded by making an exagerated gesture of opening her eyes wide and raising her eyebrows, and that was just random. I suppose when she laughed out loud, twice, at her father's joke the laugh was just a randon, involuntary action that just happened to occur when her dad said something funny. And the way her face lit up and she smiled when her mom greeted her on yet another video, that was just a random coincidence as well.

Hogwash!

"...these sterling fellows accepted slavery as a fact of life, and prevented women from exercising their right to vote among a few other ancient cultural norms."

Well, freedom and equal rights for all were pretty radical ideas back in the days of our founding and all back through ancient times. Jefferson had it right in the Declaration, but they could not get it into the Constitution. Guess the Constitution would never have been ratified and our experiment in self-government would have failed early on had they tried to force the issue at the time.

And now after much suffering and bloodshed we do have a constitution guaranteeing equal rights under the law for all. Thank God the Founders had the foresight and wisdom to establish such a balanced system of government and the patriots before us had the strength and will to defend it regardless of cost. Now it's our turn. Do we allow the judiciary to wield supreme power over our lives and liberty whether right or wrong or is it too extreme for us to call for justice and constitutional balance?

These videos don't show the vast majority of times when her responses in no way jibe with what she is being asked to do.

That's because she was brain damaged! It obviously took supreme effort to respond and she was not able to do it consistently. But she did do it.

No, of course not. We rely on the equal distribution of power. The problem is with Congress. The Republicans have been terrible stewards of their power. They constantly squander their legitimacy on personality conflicts and empty threats. The Congress has the right to act, but they must stop backing themselves into a corner. Republican control of the Congress is an empty suit. The courts and the executive have filled the vacuum.

You might mention that to the congress critters on Thursday. Deficate or abdicate.

I had the chance this past weekend to ask my FIL and BIL - both neuroradiologists - about the scans they had seen. My BIL was valedectorian of his grade school, high school, university and tops in med school as well. My FIL was the first neuroradiologist in our state.

They were both very suprised to see how little damage actually showed up. Neither of them thought the images evidenced anything more than what they described as moderate brain damage.

I was pretty surprised to hear that from them, given what has been reported to date.

I think you have made some good points and some worth considering.

My concern now is getting Greer removed.

It is my hope that many people will join that fight. I know that huge responsibility for the travesty in this case falls at Judge Greer's feet- for breaking so many laws in getting Terri into the position to be dehydrated to death ....and of course all of the injustices to Terri have been documented right

HERE

Jumpin Judas Priest ... the demagoguery is so thick you could cut it with a bit of reality and sell it to the mob as a political website.

Extremism is no vice. Of course it used to be about liberty but what the hell ... just a little adjustment. Doesn't matter. We can bring in the Fed to straighten it all out. It's all good!

Well, calling in the feds to defend life, liberty, and constitution is not all that bad. It's their sworn duty. Sheesh, you'd think we were calling for the feds to come in and kill someone or something.
