Massachusetts Senators Ted Kennedy and John Kerry have been invited to be part of a congressional delegation traveling to Rome for the funeral of Pope John Paul.
Kennedy met privately with the pontiff during a visit to Rome in the 1980s. He recalls presenting the pope with a bust of his brother, President John Kennedy.
The small group of senators attending the funeral will also include Democrat Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, who in 1983 delivered a message to the pope from Polish solidarity leader Lach Welesa.
Gag and double-gag. Just how rich and powerful does one have to be to rate the royal "Kennedy" exemption?
Considering that Teddy "belch" Kennedy, the Swimmer, is attending, I hope they post a warning for all the parents in the Rome area to watch their daughters.
They both reek with insincerity. Just like Hillary. What was *she* doing at the personal, family viewing?
There is another thread that says that Harry Reid is going---
Kennedy and Kerry at least are pretend Catholics, but Reid?
What the heck, why don't all of the elected officials in Washington go? It doesn't matter that there is work that needs to be done---that they just came off of a TWO week vacation, that in previous years was only ONE week---
Oh, heck, yeah--and all of this on OUR dime!!!!
Can you tell I am really P!ssed off here?????
I wonder if the Pope gave Teddy a bottle of Polish vodka?
How many guesses do I get that Hillary will be part of the Congressional delegation ..??
I'm with you. THese has-beens are only going to get in front of the camera.
I believe she was already there.
As if having Bill Clinton there wouldn't be enough reason.
Are they going to sit next to Fidel?
No, but he did give Teddy some driving tips.
Some pols are has-beens. Ted never was.
Rush had a pretty funny take on Dingy Harry going to the Pope's funeral near the beginning of his show. When Dingy went to Iraq, he said he was amazed by all the guns he saw (in a war zone). Rush imagined him going to the Vatican for the funeral and coming back amazed at how many Catholics he saw there.
I thought Kerry had been excommunicated by the Catholic Church for heresy on his pro-abortion anywhere anytime stance?
Wouldn't you love to have the booze concession for this little junket?
Oh good grief.
Is Barney Frank going also?
It was only a few conservative bishops who made those threats. The Church never did excommunicate Kerry.
