This is a big waste of time and effort. The illegals aren't going to cross there. They'll just cross somewhere else. However well intentioned these people are, they're not stopping anything.

Sorry to bust anybody's bubble but there's no "mission accomplished" here. They just made the illegals cross somewhere else. They will find a way across one way or another.

The last time I checked, the raison d'etre of the Minutemen is to protect our border, a.k.a. Homeland Security (yes, there is such a concept as "passive security"). I laud them for their efforts; I am not going to sit here at my keyboard and smugly denigrate their efforts with a few keystrokes.

You sound like a Liberal: if it's not going to work 100% the first attempt, then what's the use of trying at all?

Yes, they may cross the border in another place, hopefully in the hands of the border patrol in that area. You see, the MMP is working.

The goal of the MMP is not to "stop" illegal border crossings. They admit that nothing short of military intervention will seal the border. But it is bringing the problem to the forefront and forcing the Federal government to directly address it.

In that sense, it has been a major success.
