London, Apr. 04 – Iran’s hard-line leaders are setting up a “secret government” in Iraq, according to a prominent Arabic language news outlet.
The Saudi-affiliated Elaph website wrote in its Friday issue, “The Iranian Intelligence Ministry is creating a secret government in Iraq”.
“Mobs have attacked Iraq which is recovering (following the U.S.-led war) and are trying to tear the country apart as much as they can”, it said, referring to Iranian Intelligence agents which have infiltrated Iraq mainly from the south.
The Elaph site claimed that following the 2003 war, the Iranian regime launched its biggest recruitment operation through agents of its Ministry of Intelligence who had infiltrated into Iraq. The number of recruits the regime had gathered, using religious propaganda, was well in the thousands, the news source claimed.

NOTE: One problem I saw with taking Iraq out was a weakening of the balance of power in the region. I always suspected Iran would try to take advantage of the situation if Iraq was too weak.
Strangely enough, we need to help Iraq develop a credible defense/deterrent to keep Iran at bay.
I never fully trusted Chalabi. I always suspected him of being a double double agent, playing us, but really helping further Iran's interests. I could be wrong on that one, tin foil hat is on just in case.

The Iranian people do not support the Regime that is currently in power.
Saddam was definitely the most feared in the region and he was exposed for the coward he is when he begged for his life when captured.
The Mullah's in Iran do not have the support of their people, the Mullah's only option to remain in power is to obtain a Nuke and that is why they're doing all they can to make sure it happens.
I predict Iran will fall within 18 months because the spread of Freedom is on the march and I don't thing the Tyrants can stop or even slow this movement. I see the middle east going the way eastern Europe did in the 80's. After all, for hundreds of years the people of that region have been subjected to the whims of Tyrants, and millions have died at the hands of their rulers.
I hope you're right in your prognostications. We'll see as events unfold.
