Another example, of the MSM engaging in innuendo and false accusations of Republican political maneuvers, while it really appears to be a Democrat dirty trick. Last few paragraphs are most interesting.

STILL, there may be a story here: The memo in question is a pathetic piece of work. It is on a blank piece of paper with no letterhead, signature, or identification. It gets the Senate bill number wrong, misspells Terri Schiavo's name, and is full of typographical errors. The only people reported to have distributed it (by the New York Times) were Democratic staffers.

Go figure. Idiots. If democrats were just a little bit smarter, they'd be lab chimps.

Note to the Democrats: You're the ones who need "talking points," and have been using them since the Clinton Administration.

You're using projection again.

The memo was probably written by some high school dropout low-life staffer under instructions from his boss.

What is a "talking point?"

It is a term originated at the Republican 1992 convention, where the Demorats had some functionaries at the convention to rebut to the media the Republican attacks on Clinton.
Another wonderful Clinton legacy to add to the richness of our political debate.

Have you ever seen seasoned journalists using so much passive voice in your life?

a now infamous memo circulated among Republican (no one doing the circulating);the memo was distributed to Republicans (no one doing the distributing);the sheet of paper was distributed to Republican senators (no distributors); The document was provided by an official (no name); it had been used in an attempt to influence Republican senators (no one doing the using);the talking points memo story was headlined (no one doing the headlining);the memo had been "distributed only to Republican senators" (again, no one distributing);that they said had been distributed to Senate Republicans;in a memo that was supposed to be seen only by senators

What kind of journalists would use so much passive voice?

Only those with an agenda who wouldn't know the truth if they fell over it. It's a form of CYA Journalism.

It has truly become comical. Whatever they do themselves, they will accuse the Republicans of doing. It's like it's their party platform.

When a Party is morally and intellectually bankrupt, this is the only thing they can resort to. Our problem is we're too passive and too anxious to get along with these creeps.
I can understand the Repubs have to make a certain effort to at least be somewhat civil to the media, otherwise they'd get crucified even more than they do now. But why
such an effort to try to get along with the Demorats? They just laugh at us behind our back, and do anything to undermine our causes.

If it wasn't for Democrat's dirty tricks and a slew of idiots to believe them, that party of snakes would have become extinct many decades ago.

I tend to agree, except in the bluest of blue states.

The problem is that the Dems are SO intellectually bankrupt that they are reduced to simply opposing anything the Republicans come up with. As their dutiful manservants, the MSM then reports the opposition, listing everything that might be wrong with whatever the proposal is, without listing ANY of the benefits which caused the proposal to be advanced in the FIRST PLACE!

Thus, all America learns of the issue is why Democrats don't like it, not why the Republicans proposed it.

Hard for the GOP to make any points with "coverage" like that!

You are so right. And yet, look at us. We've got all the levers of power and are afraid to really use them, so, to a degree, it's also our own fault.

The Republican P.R. machine has never been effective since Michael Deaver left the Reagan team, and I think that's where we need to really get some professionals who know what they're doing.

The way things are going, I truly believe we are prevented from fighting them effectively because we are SANE.

The problem is largely the MSM, obviously.
Just look at what they're doing to Delay after he made his statements about Greer and other judges who need to be
replaced. The MSM pummeled him. And Delay will continue to be the bete noire of the MSM and Demorats, because they think they have him where they had Gingrich a few years ago.

But as I said, we need to do a better P.R. job to promote our causes. it is vitally important, so Bush can get his agenda to the people at large, without the poisonous filter of the MSM.
