Climate Change In Pennsylvania (Barf Alert)
County Press ^ | State Rep. Greg VitaIi

Posted on 04/04/2005 7:09:19 PM PDT by Tribune7

On Feb.15, the eve of the effective date of the Kyoto Treaty on global warming, I introduced the Pennsylvania Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act (H.B. 500), which would represent an important first step for Pennsylvania in addressing global climate change.

Our federal government's failure to sign on to the Kyoto Treaty makes it even more important for individual states to take action. Pennsylvania has a particular responsibility to act. Our state alone produces about 1 percent of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, more than 105 developing nations combined.

The Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act, which was introduced with the bipartisan support of 49 co-sponsors, would do four things:

* First, it would require the state to create an annual inventory of all greenhouse gas emissions by the various sectors of Pennsylvania's economy, including transportation, electric generation, commercial, agriculture, mining, etc. The inventory would establish a baseline for each of these sectors, and allow the state to measure its future progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in each sector. This inventory could probably be performed for about $25,000 per year.

"They apparently exists on the Main Line."

Sure do. Take it from a former Pennsylvanian who thanks the almighty his family got out.

Yeah and did you see any suggestion that we go to nukes? If I though the sky was falling like this guy, I'd be screaming for no-greenhouse-gas nukes.

These people are phonies.

I think it will. The thing to know is that Vitali, a very liberal Dem, represents a Republican majority district.

This is so silly it is laughable. I moved from South America to Bucks County PA in 1973, and after buying our first home that year began keeping records of planting dates and tree leaf emergence in the Spring of 1974.

In 1984 we moved to State College and I continued planting and tree leaf record keeping. Despite all the ridiculous claims, if anything, we were at least 5 days later in 2004 in Centre County than in 1984.

I have a couple of key markers including a white ash, a few red maples, white oaks and black oaks. Centre County (5 miles away from the heat island of Penn State) is about 7-10 days behind leaf emergence and tomato planting times than Central Bucks County over a 30 year period.

Who was responsible for the catastrophic global warming that occurred after the last ice age about 18,000 years ago? How could that warming been started (or prevented) I ask the scientifically ignorant global brainwashed masses?

DUH!

it's not that bad, i live close enough to new jersey, new york, delaware, maryland, massachusetts, rhode island, vermont, maine to know really, really bad governments. There's enough corruption in philly, pburg, and wilkes barre to stink up the place. there is a large fly over area that is very conservative in this state.
