Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi votes in the regional elections in Milan April 3, 2005. Berlusconi has probably suffered a stinging defeat at key regional elections on Sunday and Monday, according to exit polls reported by national TV station RAI. Berlusconi's center-right coalition appeared to have lost all but two regional governments of the 13 at stake, the exit polls said. (Daniele La Monaca/Reuters)

Romano Prodi, a very left-wing socialist, was a disaster as head of the European Commission. Italy will be making a monumental mistake if it elects him Prime Monister next year.

That's a sad election for us. Now I know how Democrats had to feel in November last year...
